I like to believe lore wise this is when Super Earth realised that it would be more efficient and less costly to just have four Helldivers each mission spec ops style with a shit ton of stratagems instead. Like the opening moments of this video is enough of an example for even Super Earth officials to say that having an entire army land down instead of a small task force is a bad idea. For one, the drop pods themselves would crush the many marines rushing in to find cover and fight. Second, the enemy would know immediately that there’s an attack coming and would be more than prepared. The paratroopers in ww2 had this issue a lot of the time to my knowledge. Ergo having a small handful of pods drop down odst style would help make the missions more successful due to a slight element of surprise. Basically this operation, as fun as it is to watch and probably play out shows why Helldivers are so limited in regiments and squads and why Helldivers planetary invasions aren’t the same as say the clone wars invasions. It would just be a waste of resources.
