Have you ever tried foraging?! 🌳Here is one thing you probably didn’t know about it ⬇️
Finns are very secretive about great foraging spots(& fishing spots 🎣).
No one has EVER posted a picture of 5 buckets of delicious berries and then revealed where they found them.🤣
One of my friends told me that her boyfriend’s granny refused to share their hidden foraging spot with her before they were married 🤐😅
Let me know in the comments: Would you like to try foraging? And would you share your best foraging spot with others?🤭

Hei Rajika! This is such a great point you're saying! Yes, Finns too post about berries they picked in a farm and they will share the location too. :D However, when it comes to wild berries, nobody will tell you where they picked those berries or mushrooms XD

I suppose I'm a language forager. You speak English very well. Now could I try? Tämä on erittäin mukava KZbin-kanava. Kiitos! Mulla on sinulle kysymys... Paljon kiitoksia! -- Loquamur

Hei Loquamur! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Thank you so much for your comment! Löysin tälläisen kirjan kirjaston hakukoneella, mutten ole varma voiko sitä saada muualtakuin Suomesta, Turun kirjastosta. "Etiäinen. 1: folkloristiikkaa ja uskontotiedettä / toimittanut Martti Junnonaho Kirja | Kulttuurien tutkimuksen laitos, Turun yliopisto | 1985" Ole hyvä! Ystävällisin terveisin, Varpu

@@HerFinland Many thanks for your gracious and helpful reply (anteeksi, my apologies, but no time today to try composing a response in Finnish ☹), including full bibliographic information! I recently bought the 1987 book by Georg Hygen, "Vardøger: Vårt paranormale nasjonalsfenomen", and it's been very informative. Now Martti Junnonaho's title appears very promising. I am curious about this phenomenon because for some unknown reason, jeg har vardøger (as the Norwegians say), I have a vardøger, too -- here in America! It's shocked my wife several times (and my dogs, too)! So your help is welcome, Varpu -- oon **erittäin kiitollinen** avustasi. Bene vale -- Loquamur

My father grew up in a small American town in the 1920' & 1930's where there were lots of immigrants from all over Europe. The Italian immigrants got all excited once because a man that they knew from their village back in Italy had decided to come to America. This man was an expert at mushroom foraging. The Italians were bragging about how they were all going to have lots of mushrooms soon. My father always ended the story by saying, "He's buried on that hill up there." What kind of species are safe to forage is highly dependent on locality. This man may have been an expert in Italy, but in America he knew nothing. He picked poison mushrooms on his first American foraging trip, ate them, and died.

Ohh, what a story! Thanks for sharing! I think this is so true in any field of life or business. You are an expert within your own realm but not necessary outside of it.
