Foraging WEEDS to make Super Green Juice | April 2024

We opened one of Ireland's first juice bars nearly 20 years ago! We haven[t forgotten the amazing power of juices, from carrot and ginger, wheatgrass or even this green powerhouse we're making from Weeds now less that we found around the corner from Dave's house where we walks his sleeping daughter every morning and night in her pram.

I love adding fresh dandelion to my salad. Wish I could find stinging nettles around here. I am trying to grow some.

Love my namawell juice but have never thought of juicing the dandelions or nettles from my yard. Interesting idea. Will have to try this.

Thats the stuff ,I bet it 'do wonders ,Put hair on your chest 😂 Every night ,I'm prepping Dandelions 4 Coco My little rescued Bun,He likes the flowers soaked in fresh Apple juice but then he's a naughty Bunny, I dont know what powers of persuasion he possesses, to make me do such a thing,wivout him even uttering a word 😂x❤x Nice juicer, I always used to pop the first spring Nettle Tops in2 the Brown rice for the last couple of mins & often enjoyed a pot of cleaver Tea...but Juice must be a bonafide way to clean blood.. x❤x

Is there a way to enjoy nettles and the other weeds by blending in a blender instead? To keep the fibre? (Because I don't have a juicer 😂 )

Nettles can be stewed. Look up some recipes. You can eat the whole plant

Nettles are every morning in my green smoothie ! Nettles, 1 apple, 1/2 lemon, 1 datte, ginger and it's fine

@@neiljowen You're welcome! I make nettle infusions by putting 1oz by weight (or fill a 1 cup measuring cup) in a quart sized glass canning jar and pouring boiling water to fill. Make sure to stir it well, too. Cover and let sit overnight then strain the resultant liquid into another container. Squeeze out the nettle to get all of the juice. Drink it within a day or two. I like to add fresh orange juice to mine to cut the "green" taste. You can buy dried nettle leaf in bulk online. Enjoy!

People have to be careful with greens due to oxalates, I recommend that everyone reads the book written by Sally K Norton, "Toxic Superfoods".
