Same as in Canada, there are plenty of young people, especially students, that need and want part-time and summer-time minimum-wage jobs while they go to school, college and university. The fact is they are shut out of that job market to allow foreign workers to come in and work for less pay than minimum wage. I should know. I was there once. And I was shut out! This problem has started long ago and it's just gotten progressively worse since the 80's.
