Due to false claims of voter fraud, asylee’s not showing up for court, criminal activity, and just right wing claims used to breed hate. The Right has unilaterally decided to undermine legal asylum. And have dubbed it as an open border policy and fed that buzz word to a right wing base who have no understanding of immigration laws. Trumps zero tolerance policy to separate children, Remain in Mexico, Title 42. All attempts to stop legal asylum under US laws that have been in place for over 40 years. Yet now using it to trigger a base that is now openly full of hate on immigrants and this hate is now fed by GOP governors feeding off of that for votes from GOP supporters who immoral views support separating children as a deterrent, use of lethal force, lying to immigrants to ship them to dem cities to stick it to libs, incarceration, placing them in the hands of traffickers. All because of immigrants who may or may not have violated a misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty. And the Right wing base just does not understand our law. Trumps immoral policies were violating US law by snatching children from legal asylum seeks as a deterrent. Harris was never appointed as border czar. There are no 85000 missing children and no they cannot use their drivers license to vote. The Right does nothing but lie.

That didn't work in Texas. I watched as the guard at first didn't let them in, but Border Patrol came and announced they would open a gate in the wall 200 yards back and they would let them in there. The BP told them they would have to form lines of 12 each before they would let them in. You should have seen the stampede. After that, some of the guard would just stand there and watch as they crawled through the razor wire and come in. Then some guys on Mexico side came along the wire with wire cutters and cut the wire so they could crawl through. Should be new orders.

Canadian here - we have MANY of our own immigration issues due to our failed and embarrassing PM Trudeau - however, we have a fairly robust border, with border enforcement personnel, and I used to sponsor a former partner here in Ontario - we had to jump through hoops on fire to get his status here, it took YEARS, he was SERIOUSLY vetted upon coming over, he was on a VISA and I’ll tell you right now, the government was on his ass at every turn. That was almost a decade ago and now things are a huge mess, but still, we don’t border the southern states like the US does and that’s like comparing apples to cucumbers. I think it’s a little nonsensical that because some sheriff somewhere doesn’t want to secure the border, that his opinion as a witness, somehow reflect the common perspective of the entire country. The democrats planned it this one from day one, and it’s always only been about votes.
