my guess for them diappearing.. 1: ran into a stranger who killed them , 2:animal attacks , bear or large cat. 3: Bigfoot 4:UFO , 5 a invisable portal sending them to another demention or telaporting them someplace else in the forests....since a few mention the missing person was found miles from where they disappeared.
