Dyads can not exist without eachother. Ben is still out there, the whole "Ben lives in Rey" is such a cop out. Disney left tons of loop holes for Ben to come back, he'll come back.

That a Dyad connects two people through time AND space is another indicator that Ben's story isn't done. It's just too powerful a concept to leave hanging, especially when it's between him and Rey. And thank you Pablo Hidalgo, our Living Saint (40k fans will get that reference), for leaving us clues to the WBW. Combine that with the fact that he is a victim of long-term abuse and neglect, and the effort that's gone into pointing that out, and there is no way Disney/LucasFilm can just leave him dead and gone. As for the whole "He lives on in Rey" bit, well, I've never really liked that in other stories, and have only rarely seen it done right so that it doesn't feel like a cop out. If other people are fine with it, then that's okay, we're all entitled to our opinions, but every time I hear that I automatically think "That's not good enough."

If the emperor can come back after dying in episode 6 it allows for Ben to come back as well. We did not see or hear his force ghost. Surely his force ghost would have appeared next to Luke and Leia's if he was dead. No force ghost means he's still alive. If a lightsaber can move through space then so can a human body. "Size matters not. It's only different in your head." Yoda. It would be such a waste if Ben doesn't return and the dyad remains unexplored.

I love the concept of the Force Dyad and I hope we see it in more stories going forward, whether that's between Rey and Ben or some other characters. Introducing this concept with Rey and Ben was a fantastic idea, given how powerful and mysterious their connection had been since TFA. I personally really like the "he lives in her" theory, I find it beautiful that they'll always be together, and I don't feel it's necessary for Ben to come back in physical form, but I know that's a minority view among Reylos. Anyway, great video, got a new subber!

Palpatine did say, “live together, die together.” Which seemed to make no sense by the end the movie. I do believe that they have left this opportunity open. It will just depend on whether Lucas Films decides they want to bring Ben back at some point. They may or may not have any plans at this time. Frankly, the more I think about it the more I’m glad they are being vague about it. That way they aren’t shutting down any possibilities. We will just have to wait and see. My biggest disappointment with the Sequel Trilogy is the apparent death of Ben Solo. In my opinion they have missed out on a big opportunity to continue his story. So I will hope that they may take advantage of this potential in the future.

I personally believe the Dyad talk has so much potential going in further with lore and all. Although it seems as in all the evidence points to Ben coming back, i sadly don't think that Disney and Lucasfilm would want to go that route and will most likely go with "He lives inside her" which imo sounds bland.

The force dyad was a very interesting concept. But Palpatine just use their energy to revive. It didn't have a major use. I though Rey and Ben would defeat Palpatine together. I suppose Ben was able to transfer his energy to her because of their dyad. I hope the book explains it better.

Interesting take on the dyad. The movie could have explained that futher. Do you think their force connection could be read metaphorical as a deep bond to a person you care about or more a 'online skype' connection which indicates that we 'connect' to people beyond our control (danger of being online)? Because he is generally the most belovef character of the ST I think they could let him return in some shape of form where it makes sense especially because his disappearence was left so ambigious.

Definitely agree with you about Ben! To your question, it’s obvious that Rey and Ben care for one another but that is not the meaning behind a dyad, nor do I think this “Skype” ability is a defining characteristic of dyads in general. I think this dyad is formed because such a bond was necessary to defeat an evil as great as the emperor. Two genetic anomalies, who are very powerful in the force were brought together by the will of the force. One from the light, and one from the dark, they both learn to channel either side of the force as their bond grows, making them truly balanced as two that are one. That sort of strength was necessary to defeat the emperor once again, short of another immaculate conception, like we got with Anakin Skywalker.

That's why I think they both should have defeated Palpatine together. Being a Dyad their power together could have taken him down it didn't make sense for them to get there together and throw Ben down a pit and Rey have enough power alone to kill Palpatine . It would have been a better scene with all the force ghosts to surround both Rey ad Ben and everybody jump in and took him out but I'm not the writer of the movie just my own opinon

I tend to agree with you. I really liked that sequence that we got with Rey defeating Palpatine through the strength of all the Jedi and then dying due to the effort such a power required, but there was potential for that sequence and the ones that followed to be significantly better. It was a solid film overall though in my opinion, so I can’t complain too much.

I love the concept of the Dyad. The fact the Sith where trying to create The Dyad between The master and appearance is awesome and terrifying like imagine if Vader before he was burned and Palpatine formed one they would be completely unstoppable. And the fact Palpatine got the power of the Dyad and it took the combined power of All the Jedi of the past including Luke and Anakin to hold Him off is insane. A full potential Dyad would be up there with the ones of mortis and maybe being second only to a full potential Anakin himself

This is what I think, too. They totally left the door open to potentially bring Ben back in the future. Sadly, though, I kind of doubt we'll ever see it. Disappointing, but....I'm trying to be realistic and not get my hopes up. In the meantime, I'm doing all kinds of research on Star Wars lore. I want to write a fanfiction about Rey bringing Ben back. This is a larger task than anything I've ever taken on as a writer, as I want everything to be as canonical as possible. I'm still stumped as to how to bring him back in a way that would make sense, though. The World Between Worlds is a definite possibility, but I'm at a loss as to how that could work. Ideas, anyone? If you were Disney, how would you bring back Ben Solo? COULD you? I'm genuinely curious as to what people think. I've only been into this Star Wars business for a couple months (better late than never, I suppose) but the amount of knowledge some people have when it comes to all this just blows my mind.

I’m down to share some ideas, I’d never write a fanfic my self but I’ve read a lot of stories. When it said that they could interact through time and space, this implies that maybe this is just there first timeline, Rey could potentially go back and interact with Ben. Be that voice inside of his head, the “light” that drew him to be good. Who knows, maybe this isn’t their first timeline, and their first one he became a really powerful sith. Rey couldn’t defeat him so she helps to guide him and her younger self. I mean you never know. Not something I could see Disney doing though. Another one could be that Ben doesn’t get pulled back, but is instead cloned. Now THAT is definitely something that could and probably would happen in the Star Wars universe. And with her other half of the soup being Ben, maybe she could transfer it over to his clone. She’d be older and more powerful by then. The only reason Ben died was because they’d been drained of their life force before, and drained of all energy. Maybe if you wanted her story to go more dark, you could have her going to the dark side to bring him back. I mean without Ben she’s kinda unbalanced so it’s not completely unreasonable. She gets lost and consumed by this need just like anakin did and when she succeeds everyone else would view her as a monster, but she’s not evil, she’s just willing to break the rules. Tbh there’s a few ideas circling but the writing has to be good, if the writing is good then the plot will be believable. I believe you can do it!

Anakin is the Chosen One by birthright and no one can negate that. Anakin has no father and the ONLY person so far in Star Wars to be born from the Force itself. However, in the phantom menace, Yoda mentions the prophecy may have been misread. Until the actual words of the prophecy are revealed, we will never get to interpret what it really said. The way I see it, Anakin is still the Chosen One and his bloodline still help defeat Palpatine and his bloodline revived light (Rey) in the Force. Force Dyad may be unique to TRoS, but Ben Solo/Kylo Ren would never exist without Anakin so his Force is still defeating the dark side. Rey would be dead if Anakin never had a grandchild to continue his Force will.

Oh, let him go. The humain body become to small for his spirit... He can have a life as a Force ghost. As his grandfather should come to people in despair and help to arise, Ben can teach to heal body and soul. Like Angels with some fonction. A work to do.
