I'm also not really a 40k fan, but I can confirm that the game is great. Played for a good 10 hours. Never gets stale as you keep unlocking stuff and new ways to finish off Tyranids. Did not test multiplayer tho, but I'm very sure it will be a blast. Also, they did not lie when they said that there are going to be hundreds of enemies on screen at a time (not causing any performance problems...at least on a high end rig).

Consider also the shadow of the warp, a giant field that drowns out the warp preventing spells and summoning that all Tyranid fleets produce. It can't be that strong here if the thousand sons are showing up which means all the Tyranids we're seeing here is a small force most likely. It's very 40k lol It could also mean we might get access to a space marine Librarian/Sorcerer later, maybe.

I didn’t see any Von Ryan’s Leapers. Are you sure they weren’t just warriors or raveners? Warriors have a lot of weapon variations. I don’t think anything from the new Nids model range got into this game, there just wasn’t enough time to develop. Hive Tyrants are confirmed, they’re a boss enemy of sorts. So far there’s hormagaunts, warriors, raveners, lictors, zoanthropes, Carnifex, Hive Tyrant. Maybe a couple others. Edit: Termagants too, wasn’t sure if they’d be in it because hordes of tiny guns would be annoying as hell, but I saw a couple. Glad to see them.

Small, but important detail I think you overlooked or forgot to mention - in addition to recovering armor, this games also has a bloodborne-like health system. When you take health damage, you have a small window of time to regain that health by attacking.

It sounds like they've made major quality of life improvements for the sequel. A big problem I had with the first game was that you were relatively squishy but could execute enemies to get most of your health back. But... executions left you vulnerable and you could easily die during the animation. It felt terrible. Great to see that HP is now based on consumables, and executes give back armor while you're also invincible. This will be a game-changer to the pace and feel of combat.

Yea. My main concern is definitely the amount of content. Expected a bit more co op missions... Luckily it sounds like they at least plan to support the game and keep releasing more, but it is fairly light to start with. Love what is there though from the looks of it. Just needs more content. I kinda was hoping, and maybe they did?, that the co-op levels were procedural in some way so you pick the type of location you want to fight in and then it generates a levels around that landscape type. Maybe even horde survival/challenge modes too would be neat. We just need more!!!

Level structure stays identical from run to run. The only thing that get's mixed up is enemy placement, composition, and numbers. Also pickups (like ammo crates), but the layout and boundaries of the playspace, stays the same.

As it stands, I have so much respect for the developers on this one! I know people were upset about not having an open beta. But honestly that was probably the smartest thing they did! By taking the time to work on bugs and errors in order to release a polished game, in a time where almost every triple A game is a buggy mess just sets this game aside from every recent release. If they did an open beta and it had flaws, many people would write the game off instantly. It's looking like the developers are pouring time and love to make this a game that both themselves, and fans will just love to have fun in. My hopes are high, hopefully the release doesn't disappoint!

i have chosen to cancel my preorder after this video. - The PVP aspect sounds like it could end up being the only endgame, and that was a huge turn off to me. - Maps look small and linear, not as in Helldivers 2, where we have a planet and its more random. - Campaign sounded small ish (under 10hours) - PVE looks alot like Vermintide 2, where maps are linear and after a few runs, its more of the same. All in all sadly not what i hoped for, i had hoped for deep story, with less rushed gameplay. bigger world with more acts with different planets to explore, and defeat enemies to open up new areas and clear out the enemy forces from cities.

i didn't expect the same engine(Swarm Engine) being able to offers this much verticality and complex gameplay varieties on a semi-openworld(?) level design, and notably compare to their pervious game WWZ, the devs exceeds and set the bar high. at this point excels at their propriety engine.

Fledgeling 40k nerd here, from what I know there is 18 space marine Legions (20 but we don't talk about the extra two), 9 loyalist and 9 traitor. Each legion is made up of different chapters, so that part about there being dlc cosmetics could either be extra cosmetics on top of the already available cosmetics, ooorrr it could be cosmetics specific to named space marine chapters. If this is the case, it'll be really funny if we see a Lamenters cosmetic set.

6:15 ik this aint really important, but imma just slap the names of the bugs hes talking abt here as best i can just in case anyone is interested hormagaunts are the ones that swarm you to no end, Tyranid warriors are the ones with the dual swords tho they can ofen times be seen with some heavy ranged firepower as well, the "floating squid things" are either venomthropes or zoanthropes (they do look pretty similar tbh) and the bad guy space marines that our good man mentions are thoes of the Thousand sons space marine legion that betrayed the emperor after being banned from doing the one thing they are really good at, and having another space marine legion tricked into coming to murder them to the last and burn down their home world 10 thousand years before the time this game is set in. And finally for the enemies he mentioned that i can talk abt, the carnifex. a hulking mass of an apex predator able to stomp and slash its way through near anything in its way Hope this was interesting / informative for some one just setting out on their journey through the 40k universe!
