Excellent, it sounds great again! My 79 340 is in the shop. Clutch WAS stuck. He thinks someone along the line replaced the clutch but didn't do anything to the flywheel, so it was rough and easy for the clutch to stick to it. Was also wet inside with tranny fluid as a seal was leaking. So new clutch, throw out bearing, turn down the flywheel, some seals etc. Hope to have it back in the next couple of days. Found a young farmer near us that works on tractors and farm equipment. Huge garage with all the equipment to split the tractor etc.

Yeah, if you dont have the tools you need, it makes for a harder job. I hope when you get yours back it is purring and running great.

Sounds good. I have a similar trick for gaskets, but it's a one inch wide inexpensive wood chisel. Works great as long as you radius the outer corners so they can't dig gouge anything.
@josaljo16 жыл бұрын
It was not on the video but I used the same chisel on the intake manifold. It was a tough one.

Good job Joe. Now I know who to call if I have trouble with my backhoe. 😂 If I lived closer, I would come help to learn, but have to admit that I would have my fingers crossed for a big slice of homemade apple pie.

Sounded good while it was running. Looks like you'll be ready for the snow. It's kind of strange that the one valve was bad and everything else looked in good shape.

Sounds real good Joe great job once back together and running there is always something that is either leaking or needs tweaked. Just the nature of things i think. As for getting out in the cold being a problem, you sure got that right. Seems the older we get the less effective our natural insulation gets. Lol Just like this old machinery i guess we wear down over time unfortunately we aren't as easy to repair.

@@josaljo1 lol yeah i here that for me that just wouldn't work. I would need a full on complete full body restoration. As i am dealing with Kidney disease, Hi Blood pressure and i have had 4 separate surgeries on my spine. Oh have stomach issue as well hiatal hernia. Thats why i am disabled no one in their right mind would ever hire me. It may have me slowed down but i dont let it stop me.

Thanks for your video I am just working on my 1978 Ford 555 I think I need to get the diesel pump rebuild. But I have always been worried about if the head gasket would let go but your video shows that it isn’t such a big deal! When ordering parts & gaskets do you just say it’s a Ford 3cylinder industrial and who did you buy your gaskets from? Good idea running the vacuum while cleaning I will have to remember that!😀

It has injectors at all cylinders so I would say direct.
