Great job! Really impressed w/ the front plow system.

GREAT vid! It amazes me how powerful these tractors are. Here you are plowing with a 1949 tractor Pushing snow like it was confetti and here where I am they use 90+ HP tractors with 4 wheel drive. Ok they have heated cabins and you don't but damn I might just get myself and old one like this for a few hundred bucks and use that. Thanks for the video. Keep them coming. Do some extreme snow plowing and show us what that beast can do!

In his other video on this, it was said this is a Dearborn Universal plow. Searching on that brings up a lot of info. Still would like to see him do a more detailed video of the plow mounts, and of the varouse parts in operation.

We made a weight box out of a 30gallon drum. Put a round bar through it that fit the 3pt hitch and filled it with concrete. That added weight transformed our same tractor when plowing.

I would put a "heat-houser" on it myself. For you young'ns, its like a tent to cover the driver, dash, etc. Uses heat from the engine to make a little more better and it breaks the wind. Just bolts on and off in half hr. or less.

Its because of the flat head design. Same as a lot of garden tractors and push mowers, except their usually 1 cylinders so you don't realize it.

We cut a 55 gallon barrel in half and filled it with concrete and made an attachment for the 3 point hitch for weight in the back.

Did u make the bracket for the plow or is there an aftermarket one?

How do you lift the plow up and down? It looks like a series of cables and pulleys from the 3 point arms? I've got a '51 8N but it's been set up with front driven hydraulics and a loader bucket. I put a blade on in place of the bucket in the winter.

I've only used a rear blade for snow. The last two years have been a real challenge, and I recognize I need to change my method or equipment. SgtKilgore406 where may I find the same setup as yours? I need to act on this. Thanks for sharing your information.

I know this is a bit late, but the flathead ford engine used in the N series has hardened valves, so 87 octane unleaded fuel is fine.

You obviously don't know tractors Todd. They are like lawn mowers, there is a governor. No foot feed
@D8W2P46 жыл бұрын
@@73xlh This, the N series engines have a throttle lever and turn over at like 2,000 RPM max. When you're actually using them they pretty much need to be floored all the time, because the engine doesn't make that much power and they're geared too high in all honesty.
@1959hogryder6 жыл бұрын
@@73xlh : My dad's early 60's JD4020's had a foot-feed , as well as the standard throttle lever ..... I think his earlier , late 50's IH 807 had the same set-up also .... His two earlier 1955 Farmall 400's did Not though ...

ToddtheWadd and awm9110 Vertical in-line 4 banger with maxed out rpm up to 2200 with governor. This engine will last for DECADES with proper service/maintenance. Have a '53 NAA Jubilee that my grandpa used on the farm. Cultivator bar use and utility work. Still running strong since 1953. When they still built tractors, LOL!

Thats just what the flathead 4 sounds like, do you not own one? I wouldn't make ignorant comments telling people what they're doing wrong and i have a half dozen tractors, all with front blades, rear blades, snowblowers, and i rebuilt them all with no experience or training. But i still wouldnt talk to a 16 year old with his first mower like you, especially when im right and you're wrong.
@larrywoodruff75303 жыл бұрын
Sorry there buddy, your the one who's wrong, these tractors need a creeper gear, common sense.
