You are right: spending $80,000 on an “off-road” vehicle that is going to get bashed up on the trail makes no sense. If you are buying a vehicle to impress the neighbors, fine. Vehicle capability wise you guys hit the nail on the head. The interior is still up for debate. IMO the Wrangler interior just sort of works. No major interior issues. The Bronco on the other hand is a huge let down. The materials used are not as good, things wobble and move about, the roof is recall-able because it doesn't seal, just a whole mess of quality issues. For my money I'd still get a Wrangler simply due to the aftermarket support and the time on the market to get the quirks worked out. One more slight advantage to IFS you never hear about is in snow. They usually have more clearance in front so you can usually back up in deep snow. With the solid axle in front it acts like a plow and in stiff snow will stop you pretty quick and if you were going too fast you're stuck and can't back out. It a small advantage for the Bronco but since they're so close, that's what ends up making the difference. In the end, they both have more than enough capability off-road that anybody can need so the big difference is on road and the Bronco is a clear winner there.

I live in a very high cost of living state, and surprisingly, I have not yet seen the off-road (top of the line) version of the Bronco on the road. I did see what I guess is the base model, and it looked very cheap. I have no doubt of the off-road chops of the top of the line model, however, I do not trust the quality of American nameplate vehicles, and damn sure not at $60, $70, and $80,000. 'Back in the day', 48 month auto loans were the norm. Now, I see advertisements for 84 month auto loans. I wonder what percentage of owners are able to afford these vehicles within 4 years or less? That 392 Rubicon does sound great!

sadly I'll never wrangle the cash to a ford either. But you looked like you had a lot of fun :)
@gabrielback56153 жыл бұрын
if your really going to be honest, these two vehicles are heavily biased for OFF road and if your not interested in best off road capability you wouldn't buy either. There are tons of on road SUVs available from both manufacturers, including better versions of Bronco and Wrangler, that are far superior for on road use. So the only reason to buy one of these is for best off road use and the Wrangler wins hands down.

Too bad the wrangler is so terrible on road that I won’t be keeping mine long enough to know it’s off road capability.
@aaron52223 жыл бұрын
@@boughtandpaidforautoreview1150 why would you buy one and never go off road? Your picture is a tundra that rides just as awful as my gladiator with none of the capability

Oh please.....most people who own Jeeps hardly see dirt let alone serious off road. Same will be said for new Bronco owners. Most are after the look....or to make a statement but most will never use the ability.

My 07 Ranger currently has a rust hole in its muffler and a lose exhaust clamp and it sounds EXACTLY like that jeep. Lol

The words of a truly jealous person who can only draw ridiculous comparisons because he will never earn enough money to buy EITHER if these vehicles. If you could, you wouldn’t be driving a fourteen year old base model Ranger, which you bought used.

@@mikek5298 I earn enough to buy 10 of these. I just choose to spend my money differently than you. I don't get swayed by exhaust notes, blue stitching in my seats and the size of the lugs on my rock crawling tires. I get my thrills from walking through the woods anyway, not by driving through them.

They’re both amazing vehicles; choosing between the two is certainly tough but the vast majority of my drive time is on road so for me personally the Bronco wins! I don’t need or want the soft top or modular hardtop; I wish there was a luxury version of the Bronco that kinda competes with the Defender and the G Wagon and with a hardtop and panoramic moon roof.😎

In our part (rest of the world) we consider locking is cheating, but in the west not locking differential is considered cheating🤣😃. We off road in a manual trans with no crawl control, no lockers, no multi-terrain select, no oversized tyres, no re-gearing.

When I think about a vehicle I will take off road. I think about what can go wrong and how easily can I fix it. I am not a fan of a lot of electronic niceties off-road, I would much rather just have simplicity. As far as on road that is a different story.

You don't have to switch to 4-lo to lock the rear. Just put it in 4h hit the off-road+ and lock the rear

Coming from a generation where V8s were the standard in off-road vehicles, I have always hated the Jeep Wrangler didn't come with option in my JKU. I wasn't going to invest in a swap and I know it is highly unlikely that Ford will ever put a V8 in the Bronco (even the Raptor), so I have turned my focus about off-road capability. Anything built right, will conquer just about anything you throw at it. Just go take a look at LiteBrites channel and how impressive the Bronco did against a $100K built Jeep. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmjEkoWmiZl7jLs&ab_channel=LiteBrite

I used "trail turn assist" with my F350 four door long bed with a detroit locker in the rear. I would put it into two wheel drive, turn the wheel and slightly punch the throttle. I could make a 180 degree turn if needed. I now have a jeep gladiator.

Isn’t it funny how everyone says to not get Chevy cause it has IFS for HD trucks, but then In off road trucks with tons of compromises they complain incessantly about solid axles. . Pretty obvious how much better SFA performs, but I guess it’s fun for your chassis to flop around like that. Lol
