@@truckertoddllc tires are so important. Hell, that's why we put lifts on vehicles. So we can put bigger, more aggressive tires on them. Going from a stock all season to something like a ridge grappler (even stock size) will just give you so much more grip off road it's crazy.

Here we go again, comparing "vehicles" on slippery surfaces when honestly you are only comparing tires. One has street tires not made for slippery mud, snow at all and the other is an all terrain off road capable tire. Both of these Ford vehicles would do just fine if they were both equipped with the BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T tires.

When dealing w/ dark, snow, mud & ice NO pickup truck will compare to dedicated off rd rigs like Broncos / Jeeps etc. Weight distribution is a huge factor & tire types make a big difference. I really think the only way to do an honest comparison is to have both vehicles use the same tires. The stock tires on my Sahara 4xe were terrible in the snow. I had no traction at all. The first time I drove with them in the snow was the last time I drove with them in the snow. I swapped them out for triple peak rated Duractracs, and it was a world of difference. This comparison didn't compare vehicles, it compared tires. I was hoing to see how a real world ranger would react in the snow and those tires are not what people would use in real snow.
