Great line from John Ford/John Wayne movie "Red River ": "Keep mouth shut, dust not get in." ! Seems like 40's without mod'ing steering was an expensive move, but its only money. I think that Bronco is really impressive, but obviously he found the limits to the stock(ish) setup. Would love to see him come back once he figures out the steering system, maybe he can find a more durable rack. For your Lite-Brite Bronco, I would love to see an Overland style build on 37s. Keep it simple, and maybe do some more collabs with DL Nate and Brad, for their trip style of wheeling.

My thing is why would they ever put anything but a solid axle on the Bronco know it's going up against Jeep and the off-road market I'd never buy anything but a solid front axle for anything heavy duty
@trailrunnah8886
@trailrunnah8886 2 жыл бұрын
@@williamj.barnhartjr.3108 probably cost. They don't have a solid axle vehicle in that size range, so they'd have to engineer it from scratch. And also, they probably looked at their intended market, and it was people not quite hardcore enough to want the solid front axle that the Wrangler has. (Look at how many people religiously love Toyotas, and they're all IFS in the US) For an IFS vehicle, the Bronco seems to work pretty well, although this guy figured out the weaknesses of the steering system for sure.

@@fxrsniper1 they haven't made that model Explorer in like 20 years though, haha. I was referring to the front end rhough. Other than the super duty pickups, Ford doesn't make a solid front axle vehicle, so they'd have to start with something from scratch for the Bronco. Considering it's mostly based on the Ranger, it wouldn't make sense financially for them to do that.

Let's be realistic, i'm not a Jeep fan by any means but the new Bronco can't hold a candle against a JL Rubicon regarding axle twisting off roading, now if someboy develops a solid axle conversion kit for it and a coyote swap kit, that would be a totally different story

Gotta admit that thing looks mean! I love the look of the jeep but the Bronco is not bad. Really surprised the CVs and D44 is good with 40" Stickeys. Running those tires and having lockers it should be unstoppable if it holds together. I would think even solid axle flex would be hard to overcome the advantage of Stickey vs DOT tires.

Was at Uwharrie this weekend. There was a good amount of Broncos out there. Many were towed out of the trails. I saw a couple of broken front axle shafts, one broken front drive shaft, one broken rear drive shaft, a broken tie rod and one that lost steering. Most likely the rack. This is the first year out so these things will improve. For now I am staying with my Jeep.

My thoughts are on the Bronco, knowing the steering is is the weak point. With that much tire I would not air down that much. Ive wheeled Sand hollow. The traction is amazing and I've had the weight loaded onto the front where I could not turn my JKU on 37s. I actually went up from 14lbs to 18lbs so I could turn better. Im not sure where he was at for pressure but they were pretty squishy. And that spindle arm bolt needs to be in double shear.

The bronco is cool… the Jeep is still king for me. The simplicity and the solid axle are key.

Interested to see how those CVs hold up to being romped on in the rocks. Suspect RCV will be working on something to beef them up some

I would have to give the Bronco a fail. He bypassed the rock on the 2nd obstacle. I mean if he is trying to wheel head to head against a Wrangler, the Bronco should do the exact same line. Just my 2 cents.

That's easy for you to say with a jeep super upgraded on everything against a new first-year Bronco with a lift, and a beefed-up tierod. You must feel good.

@@TubeRLH I think people are taking it the wrong way. I’m not saying the Bronco isn’t a capable rig but in its current form there are a lot of shortcomings to work out. The Bronco has proven it will be a contender. But up against the Step Child is a tall order. Hats off to them for putting out the challenge. Guys like that push the boundaries and discover rather quickly what are the failing points that Ford obviously missed only because Ford wouldn’t dream of doing what most off-roaders would do on any given weekend or during a “ hold my beer” moment. Yes I think when the aftermarket manufacturers catch up to what the Bronco owners are subjecting it to in an off-road environment , things will change very quickly. But there is a reason why you don’t see many IFS rigs that can hang with a solid axle rig (excluding ultra 4, Rock Racers etc.). I’m sure someone like Rock Krawler or EVO mfg. partnered with Dynatrac or Currie will make a SA conversion kit. Until then I don’t see the new Bronco being able to hang with even a slightly modified JK or JL Rubicon.

@@JTTV72stock they already keep up with stock and slightly modified Jeeps, at least in that many video comparos I've watched. The steering rack is THE weak link so far, but otherwise a solid spring 6 for a brand new truck

@Brad A Hmmm. Watch other videos about bending IFS shafts due to articulation during rock crawling. The expense involved in upgrading Range Rovers (AKA IFS SYSTEMS) is documented. Don't buy a Range Rover/IFS/ Ford Bronco. Good luck with the expense factor with the Bronco. Joe Q citizen will not be too hot on the expensive mods. Many are working on it (Thank God). Stick to Jeeps for the time being... To LiteBrite (Kevin/Brittany/Chris/Bec/Jelly) - I live for your enthusiasm, Frankenstein Modification Marvels, Drifting, and Off-road Adventures. Just keep hearing how Broncos keep breaking every time I see one off-road. Not to sure i want one the more I hear it. I love my Jeep and it’s tried and true, not saying jeeps don’t break but not like Broncos do. Another good video guys!
