Useful info about the wheel, but that bit of DIY at the end was a great bonus! Got into a pickle last week with my C-Max and have just bought a space saver wheel

Maybe it is good idea to put carpet or rubber between jack & trunk bottom (for insulation)

Yes, sounds good. But it might also cause trouble if water gets in there and does bot dry up.
