How the hell did they not notice that knocking? If it can be heard in the video surely they could hear it? Absolutely beautiful capri though. The mk1 really has gorgeous lines, like most of the early fords, mk1 escort etc.

badr eddine either way it would’ve been better to stop there still fucking sending the engine to Pluto that block could’ve been saved
@jblack53236 жыл бұрын
Even before that if sounds like the pistons were slapping at really low revs. As for the bearing noise the operator wouldn't have been able to pick up on that sound like the camera did due to the cooling fan and dyno noise that was going on.
@FreerunMediaService11 жыл бұрын
A little stupid because if they used they're ears they could hear that the engine wasn't at 100% at 02:46. That was the point to stop. Otherwise you can hear something is wrong at 03:04. This was not a dyno test, this was a engine blow up test.
@mrcabes10 жыл бұрын
Too many haters not enough knowledge here I'm afraid. 1.07 I'd have pulled the plug. you can hear something about to give out, the tone changes. common on the 2.9 when they're over engineered. Hardly a tuneable engine said Ford back in the 90's. Just over 200hp out of the crate. Best thing for those engines from experience is to put a light turbo on each side. T25 s and a Bosch 403 grey injector upgrade would do the trick (He's using greens here, no need for any more) and achieve a useable 260 - 280hp with the right ecu map, and I don't think there were cams available either for that engine. unless you bought the FBE competition engine which still only topped 300bhp and just under 250ibs, Correct me if I'm wrong? Credit due though for the wrench time put into it. the second engine sounded sweet as a nut and he has a big grin and a trophy to boot! SAAB'N'FORD Till I Die!!!

@ around the 2:47 mark you can hear the tone change in the engine and around the 3:03 mark that's where you could hear the knocking in the motor. I also want to know what kind of numbers it made before the engine shitted on itself.

As the chap below says there was knock from 3 minutes onwards, why didn't you abort the dyno session? I have been to plenty of dyno sessions and you can certainly hear a big end knock at idle. It should have been especially obvious if an oil gauge was installed also. I imagine a bearing spun? I think thats main cap in the sump?

Never forget always do what german porsche specialists do, add 1% two stroke oil API TC to your fuel as top lubricant when using modern corrosive fuels in old EFI or carbed engines.
@peterdatechmen550610 жыл бұрын
yeah all sounds too easy when we hear through puny PC speakers nothing close to resembling the sound in that closed dyno area. Although had to be a set up vid to blow. No one with a direct drive dyno and all the hook ups to oil , temps, cylinder thermos, air fuel ratio maps etc would miss the graphs of what was audible and the vibration and power fall off evident. Deep pockets syndrome!

2.48 - 5 cylinders? High rpm run with a dead cylinder = hydrolock with fuel im guessing. The last run after the major bottom end knock began was just ignorance to what was going on due to being too engrossed in what the laptop was saying and none of the other numpties saying anything. Such a shame.

How would you define a rolling road compared to a dyno? To me they are the same thing. Doesnt matter if the dyno is hooked up the hubs or tyres via a roller.
