Great video! Would I be able to take apart the pump and add some sealant instead of a new seal part/gasket? I live in australia and can't have a new part sent to me unless I pay extortionate dleivery costs!

You could try. It if it sets correctly then I don't see why it won't work.

Hi there appears to be a difference with the mk7 or 2.2 tourneo vacuum pump.. being that it has what looks like a fat pipe attached to it.. when it’s inside the vehicle this fat pipe sits under a metal thin hose.. I can’t get it out because of the way it’s under the hose.. am I missing something? I can’t seem to find a video on this.. any help very much appreciated! It’s been unresolved since march!

Good video, saves me taking one apart to have a look what is inside. Are spare seals available as a replacment?

Thank you! A few years ago the seals were available but I've not been able to source them easily any longer. I believe you can still get them from some shops in Europe.

Great video just what i was looking for, got a question if that's ok? I dont have a press so im going to buy a new unit as its only about £50 i know i have to loosen the belt but is there anything else to do when removing and refitting or is it simple disconnect unbolt and put a new one on?

Oil will leak as the water pump and vac pump are oil cooled bit nothing major. Just keep some rags nearby

The pump does not need to be disassembled to replace the stuffing box.

No it does not need to be disassembled, you just fit on a new replacement pump. This video was made for educational purposes in-case someone wanted to fix their existing vacuum pump and was not sure how to disassemble it.

Hi, Thanks for the video, Can you open up the housing also where the vacuum pipe connects. All I have from inside is a weak spring and ball. Somehow I believe I am missing something where the ball seats?

Are you referring to the vacuum pump seen in this video? or the brake booster?

@@fantasyfilledfuckers Yes you can open that and replace the parts inside, Ideally it should comes with everything in a rebuild kit if you can find one.
