Ford has gotten crazy with over pricing their vehicles. BUT, you have to ask yourself how much negative propaganda is this? How much of the price hikes are due to logistic issues, cost of fuel, and overseas production issues? None of this is being discussed. I will still take a Ford over GMC & Chevy any day and won't forget these two still need to pay back their Federal loans (which tax payers paid for) they took to save their businessess back in 2008 when Ford handled this on their own.

I quit looking at new trucks the day the average price went above $15,000. I checked a Ford dealership back in the late 80s and asked for a standard f-150, regular cab, cloth seats, inline 6 w/ 4-speed transmission, rubber-coated floor no carpet, no a/c or radio, no power windows or power seats . The price I was quoted was $23,462 because it would have to be special ordered and a wait period of 6-8 weeks.

If they cut prices in half they might sell a few. At one time you could buy a nice work Ford work truck off the lot for $19,999. They probably don’t even make work trucks anymore. In 2005 I bought a F 150 FX4, V 8 5.4 fairly well equipped, extended cab for $28,400 out door taxes and all. This was basically a 3/4 ton truck in a half ton body with heavy tow package and 10 ply Goodrich tires. Tow capacity was a little over 9,000 lbs, truck weight 6,400 lbs. Still have it, never have had to spend a lot on it over the years.

This raising prices has got to end sometimes. Car manufacturers are pricing themselves out of business. Most people can't buy these new cars and trucks at these ridiculous prices. And it's not only cars and trucks, it's a lot of other things people want and need, not luxury items but daily necessities. Inflation may have slowed down a bit but prices increased have become the norm in today's economy. The alternator went out on my car about a week ago. I called one of the big auto parts chain stores. They told me $260.00 for a re-built alternator. Plus I have to pay the only garage in town $135.00 an hour to install it. And $75.00 for a short tow to their shop if the car won't start. Luckily I found a new alternator for my car online for around a $100.00. I don't know if it as good but I have to take my chances. I'm 70 years old on Social Security, which is my only income. It's a struggle to keep going the way things are. Is this madness ever going to end. How much longer can lower and middle income people afford to live? Jim Farley is being paid a high salary to destroy Ford Motor Company. The man is completely out of touch with reality. They all are!

Way more options at Lea than half the price. 4 years later it’s still the absolute best car I have ever owned and plan on purchasing another in 2025. This is just our experience of course. @ because the demand for EVs doesn’t exist. The government pushed automakers to build them and aren’t selling like the government anticipated. Taxpayers now have to pay for something they don’t want.

It’s not just Ford, I just saw a Chevrolet truck listed at $98,775.00 in Raleigh NC. And there were 3 of them on display in front of the showroom. I also saw a Toyota RAV4 listed on its sticker at $48,870.00 😮😮😮

The problem is Floor Planning Interest! The longer a vehicle is on the lot the dealership has to pay interest on each unit. The more the dealership pays the more they have to pay to the bank.

Maybe it's time Ford started looking for new management? It seems Ford has lost its way, my Lincoln is ten years old and there are no replacements for it. I am very happy with this automobile yet to replace it I will have to purchase a foreign brand. You see Ford has lost its way!

Why is Ford surprised that people who think a little about it don't buy the brand. The price is very high for having problems. Price and quality decline equals bankruptcies. They forget that everyday life has increased, this pleasure with a car has become a dream. People don't dream when it's the banker who comes to their door or makes a REPO.

I think this is not necessarily a brand issue but a new vehicle issue... younger consumers can't afford a new car and older consumers don't like all the unnecessary features and built in safety measures. All this adas equipment is not necessary and can annoy people who want to have control over their vehicle as apposed to the vehicle having control

This is a world wide issue....greed at the top ...lead to cuts further down the line....corporations with leadership that didn;t lead...not surprised at all...lived long enough to have seen this happen many times....non union jobs mean lower wages...these companies will be coming back in a few years time with AI and robots in the factories with minimal humans....

When you're charging $60k for a F-150 the bubble is going to burst, the whole reason Ford used to be the biggest car maker in the world was because Henry Ford made cars more affordable and sold millions of them, apparently they forgot the whole business model.

A supplier parts issue forced Ford Motor Co. to shut down production of the new 2024 Ford F-150 for more than five days at both factories that build the pickup, the Detroit Free Press confirmed Friday. The Dearborn Truck Plant was down from Jan. 25 through Jan. 31, temporarily laying off about 5,200 UAW workers, Ford spokeswoman Jessica Enoch said. The Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri, was down from Jan. 25 through Feb. 1, affecting about 4,500 workers, Enoch said. "Production has resumed after being paused temporarily because of a supplier parts concern," she said. "We are vigilant about ensuring that the vehicles our customers receive are built with the quality they expect and we are taking appropriate actions to deliver on that commitment." Enoch declined to name the supplier or identify the vehicle part involved.
