Hey Neil better look for another transmission that flex plate is going to fail again because the transmission is not securely held to the engine it will continue to flex and break the flexplate. Good job though 👍

Yeah, they said it only needs to last a couple more months....might last a couple months, might not, depends on how much they beat on it and how much of a load they put it under.

12:54, I use JB Wild to repair a spindle on a mower deck. It's still holding.

yep, I've done quite a few of those starters in my years. Some I've owned and some where it was just worked on for others. Syre am glad I had a knack of being able to get screws in with just the feel! and a then a swivel socket!!!

Between that and seems like every Ford I've worked on, you need both SAE and Metric for the same part...half the bolts for something is metric the other half are SAE.....bottom of the parts bin, whatever was left, just toss them in, who cares they don't match LOL.

Broken flex plates happen when bell housing bolts are loose or missing down pins from someone swapping an engine or transmission.

Yep. Engine was replaced in my 88 Ford Bronco 2, and given its lack of power anyways, it took about a year and a half to cause damage to the flex plate from loose bolts....transmission was still fine, but with my lack of patience working on vehicles in general, I sold it rather than trying to fix it. It was still drivable, but I wasn't about to trust it anymore as that flex plate could have parted ways at any point.
