Love the old Vantage for parasitic draw tests, super easy to replace the 10 amp fuse unlike the fluke

💯 I got it on eBay specifically for that reason.

Have you considered picking up the new power probe parasitic draw monitor? It’s absolutely fantastic, plugs into the OBD port and gives you a live reading of the draw, what’s really nice about it is that you plug into the obd and then unhook the battery and it supplies its own 12 volts to the car so you can actually test for a draw if the battery’s dead

I honestly didn't see the point of it until you mentioned testing with a dead battery. I will look into it again. Thanks!

@ yeh not having to rely on the cars battery being charged is awesome. Just plug it in, press smart output, and then unhook your negative terminal and you’re ready. They’ve also got an app for it so you can monitor the draw from your phone if you want which is handy

Almost guaranteed it's the dash cam. He's wired in the fuse box for constant power for motion detection. Good diog!!

Here we go. Again... There are people looking at your videos who are competent technicians... Some are learning.. so the first piece of information they need to know is the year make and model.. of the vehicle.... Also surprised to see the original snap-on vantage.. I had one it was stolen.. wish I knew where I could get another one

Its a Ford E350, I don't know the year, but I worked on a 2011 today and it looked the same. I got the vantage used on eBay.

Thanks for sharing . Aftermarket crap again . Probably won’t be long before they kill a new battery if they even change it . Thanks again. 👍

I left the fuse out. It didn't look like he was actually using the camera.

Another good video. Are the new battery testers as good as a battery load tester in your opinion?
@advancedleveldiagnosticsАй бұрын
I personally don't think so, but some reason they don't recommend using load testers.
