He said the big line was the high side and small line was.the low side then pointed out the high pressure switch on what he called the low pressure line. Small line is your liquid high pressure bigger line is your suction low pressure

Would things have lasted if you flushed the whole system before replacing practically all the various components? That might remove the old oil + refrigerant and particles you don't want. Oil stays mixed with the refrigerant, so you don't want to put more Oil than it needs. For the low cost of Orifice tube and Expansion valve and the other components are working properly with the system having the amount of refrigerant to Oil and it's vacuumed and dried it should put out cold air. Not sure if I'd leave shipping oil in a new compressor, it may not be the type of oil for that model car.

The oil is not for a particular model car, but an air conditioning type/generation This idea that the oil shipped in a compressor is "shipping oil' is totally misguided. There is no such thing as shipping oil, first and foremost because it is impossible to get all the oil out without running solvent through any component in AC or any other device, and then you have to get the solvent out.....you can of course use AC flush, but you still will not get every drop of oil out of an AC compressor without disassembling it. Also, more specifically, the oil is made to work with the type of refrigerant, and both are matched to the compressor type and seals used in the system. None of the other AC components are critical for the oil and refrigerant type except the orofice tube or expansion valve. Everything else is only slightly different in basically all ACs, refrigerators etc. . The manufacturers absolutely do not put any type of oil in their AC compressors that is not the correct oil that is run in the system when operational. And if you replace all the components, the only thing left to flush out are the lines, which I did myself and used a boroscope to check the lines as the previous owner had put a sealant in the AC that had crystalized into granules.

question: what type of clay-like insulation is the one you've used on the lines going in/out of the evaporative box? the black colored one

Home Depot, electrical section. It's a conduit filler, comes in a square block. I can't remember the name, but it's an electricians putty.

How do i add more pag oil , when the compressor wont take anymore?
@shadetreeautomotiveenthusi12843 жыл бұрын
Put the recommended amount and viscosity. Put it in the suction side line, or the low pressure line. You can also go pickup a 2 ounce pressurized can and add it like your free on. IT WILL MAKE IT TO ITS RIGHT PLACE.

good job old school! but certs and licenses were not a waste of time, your not making money working on your own van but im making money with this epa cert. Twas about the only comment i found a little ignorant. plus your just guessing bro lol just get some 100 dollar manifolds and stop guessing. otherwise , great video, i could keep up but only because i work on sealed systems as part of my job, i dont think this is actually going to be very friendly to most DIYers just simply because they will look at it and take it straight to some auto mechanic that smells money as soon as that car hits the lot.

Thanks..... Let's Go Brandon!!!!! There's videos of cats and how to knit a sweater on the other side of KZbin. I haven't met a mechanic yet that knows what he or she is doing that has a limited vocabulary. When you bust your knuckles or you lose your 10mm socket, a real mechanic doesn't sh*t rainbows and whisper sweeting nothings. And also, real old-school mechanics prefer to raw-dog it. It means we don't wear hand condems; we embrace the cancer, and we like the burn of carburetor cleaner in the webs of our fingers. It make us feel 'Merica! I'm sure you can find less abrasive back door entries on other channels with plenty of lubricant.
