Reminds me of when I worked with a dismantler in the mid 70s. We had in a Morris 1100 with a bit of a corrosion problem - when I let out the clutch the front moved two inches before the back started moving. It was only the roof and exhaust pipe holding the front and back together, but it still had 6 months valid MoT!

I owned a new 1300 Sport, bought late '72. Mine was Sunset Red. It was the earlier model, trim was similar to the Deluxe range and didn't have the additional instruments, just the "pod" rev counter. It had 13" steel wheels with hub caps, also didn't have the chrome trim round the black back panel.

@@sugaryawroc I had a small engine fire on a MK2 Estate, luckily I was going back to the workshop when it happened, perishes fuel line caused it, was luck when I popped the bonnet up, grabbed the hose and put it out, worst damage was a bit of paint and HT leads and the distributor cap
