Ford Explorer Double Honk Disabled - Complete walk through

One of the most annoying features on my wife's 2015 Ford Explorer Limited is the double honk it does when I exit the car while its running and close the door. In this video I do a complete walk through, step by step, on how to get the double honk disabled and I also try to get the side mirrors to auto fold in and out...spoiler alert, it didn't work!!

There should be prison time for auto manufacturers who decided to use the horn to confirm a vehicle is locked, or for any other reason. The horn is an imminent warning device to be used by the operator; that's it, that's all. What a scourge on society. NTSA is obviously a useless organization.

Thanks for posting this! I had to download the drivers for the ODB2 that you linked, but otherwise everything went just like you had in the video for disabling the double-honk.

Even MORE annoying is that my Explorer double honks when my front seat passenger leaves! Dealership says they never heard of that. Any solution for this

Great video. On my 2018 explorer, the reverse collision warning tone sounds continuously when I'm backing up my trailer, making it downright impossible to concentrate on what I'm doing. Do you think I could program this off with this tool?

Any idea what the two modes are for on the VINT OBDII? The switch shows MS & HS, but no documentation says what that does when you flip the switch.

What do you mean it runs without the key in the car? It always does that. Or do you mean you can start it without the key?

I mean, now I can drive the car without keys in car, if I leave it on and take the key with me without locking the door.

you've always been able to drive off without the key once you started it with the key. Car cannot automatically shut off because that will be dangerous especially if you are already in the roadway or on the freeway

I don't think HD radio has anything to do with Satellite radio...

If you're on an FM station that broadcasts HD it should just show up automatically.

Sure, BCM, 726-41-02....the default is 0001 0001 0072 Double Honk Enabled so if you want to disable the honk use the following 0000 0001 0071 Good luck!

It is supposed to do that to warn you that the car is still on and the key has left the car.

Your not suppose to fuel your car while it's running.
