Great video review! I have a 22 Tremor with essentially the same package (I don't have Torsen in front). I can vouch for the side steps, as I've drug them over a lot of rocks. However, my Tremor did not have a transmission skid plate. It has the Raptor aluminum front plate, then a thin engine plate, then a plastic/fabric cover over the plastic transmission pan. There is a "skid" over the transfer case. Also, I have a plastic "cover" over the gas tank, not a metal skid. I've acquired an aluminum skid over the transmission with catalytic converter shields from Talon's Garage (US). I'd say that skid plate takes most of the hits when going over rocky sections since it is closer to the center of the truck's wheelbase. I really enjoy the "faster" trails that you can take advantage of the smooth suspension and engine power (sandy washes). Regarding the stock tires, they are grippy...but you will want to watch out for sharp rocks as the tires don't have a very tough sidewall. I'm not even sure that they are "LT" or truck tires. It likely helps with the plushy ride, but I found out at 10k miles while in Moab that a sidewall puncture while at 20 psi was easy to do! 😟 I've installed RAS on the rear leaf springs to keep the rear up during towing. However, I really don't come close to towing what you do. I highly recommend these to you for added stability. My plan is to trailer my designated off-road SUV on a car trailer to destinations. Should come in around 7,000 pounds for that setup. I've also temporarily installed spacers in the front to level it out a bit. My plan is to get a lift with new shocks and UCAs then fit 35's. Need to save up a bit for that! I've just hit 40k miles on mine.

Sounds like you have a very nice build going! I may have missed it but are you in an ecoboost as well? Jealous of your skid plate setup it sounds like there are some better options I need to be exploring in that department

@@countryslickerofficial Yes sir, 3.5 EB. I know that RCI has a full set of skids for our trucks, which is nice. I'm really looking into options for rock rails long-term. Steps are nice and decent, but they've been bent close to the door sills before, and I'd rather have a little more protection!

@daveharness70 im in the same boat if I continue to beat on it I'll go to aftermarket custom made sliders.

@countryslickerofficial The Coyote gets really good freeway mileage, up to 23 mpg, but I usually get 21.5 avg. on road trips. I think the cylinder deactivation helps. Around town, it's about 17. I'm averaging 18.8 mpg.

@@JT012 nothing wrong with that. Enjoy the truck! Hopefully we get some long term reliability out of these things.

I have a 2023 402a in Avalanche w/ 3.5 and Only 13k miles. I love it, I just wish I could’ve found one spec’d out just like mine except with the 5.0, mostly for sound and long term reliability. The ecoboost is great and all but if I want to go fast I’ll just drive my Mach 1.
@Matt3Fresh2 күн бұрын
I think the 2024 refresh is ugly on the front end. But it’s impossible to find anyone with a 2023 w/ the 5.0, low miles, 402a in Avalanche that wants to trade. 😭
@countryslickerofficialКүн бұрын
I hear that. I personally am a fan of the ecoboost. Really wanted that 402a package:( I'm jealous. Things like the cooled seats and better sound system would hace made a huge difference to me

Awesome review. There's someone in F150 Tremor forum who did a modular bumper swap. Think he got center portion fro 24 Tremor and the wings from a Raptor. Also not sure if he has 3.5 or 5.0. One other improvement I suggest if you do your own maint is transmission a) metal pan, and b) a drain plug from the factory
@countryslickerofficial13 күн бұрын
@@Guntrain63 100% good suggestions. Where did you find the drain plug?
@Guntrain6313 күн бұрын
@countryslickerofficial There is no drain for the stock transmission pan when changing tranny oil. You'd have to go aftermarket like BD or PPE. If you keep stock good luck avoiding the oil bath when pulling pan off unless you have a fluid extractor
@countryslickerofficial13 күн бұрын
@Guntrain63 ahh I see. I remember doing it once on my jeep which has the same design. A drain plug would have saved a lot of shop cleanup

Whqt do you think of ford tremor (3.5 eb) vs ram rebel (hurricane inline 6)? Cant decide. Did you look into the rebel at all?
@countryslickerofficial11 күн бұрын
@simd510 definitely looked into the rebel. I like the interior and the huge screen. Didn't care for the low tow rating and even with the 5.92 gears it felt sluggish compared to the others. Definitely a nice truck though and it felt closer to a chevy in terms of ride quality. The ford drives more like a car than a truck

@@countryslickerofficialsame here, it’s hard to get that decision especially you have a heavy tow.
