04 6.0 My fan clutch will not kick on. No codes. My ac works fine though. The fan speed at idol is around 350 to high 400's. I ended doing the blue wire mod bc my EOT and ECT were getting too high while towing. Works like charm and lowers my Temps on command. My question is why won't my fan kick in like it use to? By itself. Thanks for the videos man!

Hello Cody and thanks for the vid. I'm working on an 94 Excursion Our temp is cool right now high 60s lol 70s.No Codes Drove up to operating temp 180, never over Brand new f clutch 0 % duty cycle. at 2500 rpm as per Ford test. When EATC is switched on I only get a little over 9 volts on wire from control head to cycling switch.which goes to the " dual pressure" switch on the liquid line. Shouldn't I get 12 volts or batt voltage on that line? Thanks for any and all ideas Gus

if you verified power/ground to the fan, grounded the blue wire and the fan didn't respond the fan must be bad. not necessary to check the PCM input at this point unless the fan circuit somehow killed the PCM driver.

What are you pressing ok the computer to command the fan, i cant find how to command it from the data logger.

I have 05 F350 it has a bad fan clutch but no codes. When I turn the fan by hand within 10 revolutions the fan becomes free. And sounds like it has a bad bearing.
@rodneyharvey93322 жыл бұрын
Same thing with my 06 F350. Did you do the 7.3 conversion? Were you seeing high EOT's and no AC at idle?
@billw47462 жыл бұрын
@@rodneyharvey9332 I was going to do the 7.3 conversion. But I ended up using a snow plow fan clutch. All of my temperatures are down. ECT and EOT and the EGT. And the AC works better.
@johnnycortez462 жыл бұрын
If you switch over to the 7.3 fan conversion. It will throw this code correct? P0528

PAULY'S AUTO the ids wireless is about 1500 for the unit and about 1k a year for the subscription. You have to be up to date on the subscription in order for it to work but if you work on fords it’s worth it in my opinion. Love it for misfires and wireless programming is sweet.

Hey there. Appreciate the videos! I am experiencing the same problem right now in my low mile, well cared for and over maintained 2006 F-350 Powerstroke. Waiting for another 10 days to get it into the only good 6.0 Powerstroke shop in my area. I'm not a mechanic but not inept either. What do you mean by "the fan is no good".? My thought process is the fan is the physical part that is a fan(plastic blades centred on the hub, spun through the clutch). Not being sarcastic or disrespectful. Honest question. Thank you.
@codysautodiagnosticsprogra87063 жыл бұрын
There are speed sensors inside the fan clutch, when the speed sensors fail you will need to replace the fan clutch

Those electronically controlled viscus fan drives are very unreliable. Many times they won't even set a code. You'll find it when the customer comes in because the A/C isn't cold.
@codysautodiagnosticsprogra87065 жыл бұрын
Wes Johnson Services I’ve seen that as well. Usually ac issue and not coding. I see that a lot living in Arizona lol

I have 2016 f250 6.2l. Ac blowing warm at idle. The clutch on the fan never kicks in to lower high pressure on ac. No codes. I keep leaning towards cooling fan clutch.
@Mahoney32105 жыл бұрын
My 06 f250 just threw those exact codes at the same time, my fuel level went to 0 and read low fuel, and fan speed sensor came up when I read codes. Is there a connection between the two ?
@codysautodiagnosticsprogra87065 жыл бұрын
Would have to look at the wiring diagram and see if they would be the same issue.
