That door shutting is a nostalgic sound to some. Everytime i close my '72 250 it reminds me of being 5 y/o again and hearing my granddad get of the truck. (Same truck i have)

Who the hell needs built in cupholders and a shitty stepladder anyhow? But they will still make you pay an extra $10k for it.

Love your show. I have learned a lot from it. However, most of the noise is because the parts it rotates on, and many others, are 50 years old and rusty. Grease the parts and the only noise you will probably get is when it slams shut. People in 1972, specifically the people who bought pickup trucks (they were not soccer moms taking the kids to practice), did not worry about a little noise when you slammed your tailgate. It kills me when I see these millennials taking out an old f100 and "reviewing" it like it was brand new. I recently took my 1977 Ford F150 to the local chain store repair shop because it was shaking bad. The young guys took it out and gave it back to me saying "nothing we can do, it's a 1977, that's the way they drove." Bullshit. I went with my dad to pick up his new 1972 F100 explorer back in the day and it was a nice driving truck. Nothing like the Cadillac Trucks people drive today, but nice. You could restore and use an awesome F100 for about 15K or less that will do the same job as a 40-50K+ vehicle. I do love the show and will keep watching.

It is a part that folks buy, we installed it because a viewer asked. Funny story from my best friend who was a mechanic. He worked at a Ford dealer in the service department from 1990 to 2010. There was a newly minted 20 year old tech in the shop, he was quite the strutter. Touting his certifications and what not. My friend said that the kid was OK as long as he could plug something in a port. An old farmer brought his 71 F350 into the dealership for it's yearly tune up; points, plugs, filter. The service writer speedily wrote the order and put it in the young guys bay while he was on break. The young man came out grabbed the diagnotistics computer system, popped the hood and stood dumbfounded. No port. John said that it was interesting how every older tech had disappeared (including him, he hid behind his tool box). John finally had pity on the dude and shared the wonders of ignition before boxes.

@@AutoRestoMod Great story. Love what you guys are doing with the truck. I have a 1971 F100 Kansas farm truck that I am doing a frame off restoration on. I am going to make it as close to concourse as I can. It won't be perfect as some stuff will be made of unobtainia. What I like about your stuff is you have videos that are great resources for us concourse/almost original guys and also for those making some modifications. Keep up the good work.

The trim levels for a '72 were Custom, Sport Custom, Ranger, and Ranger XLT. You will find mention of the Explorer trim level also available in '72 it wasn't. It became available in '73 and the Sport Custom was dropped.
