Hey buddy I just wanted to thank you. I was looking for exactly that information, how to get to the plugs you gave me all the confidence in the world and it's appreciated.

Popped the hood on my son's truck a few minutes ago so we could do this. Never realized the intake had to come off. Thanks for this video, it's a way simpler job then it looks like at 1st.

Thank you for posting this video. Was able to removed intake manifold (pain in the butt) but managed to do it lol. You just saved me tons of money taking it to stealership or a local mechanic. Cheers

Thanks for video, got a 2011 XLT 3.7L V6 and going to be doing plugs/coils so this helps. Watched another video and guy was making huge point about how all the upper intake manfold bolts had to be specifically torqued then 45 degree turns after. Is all that really that critical?
@RARenfield3 жыл бұрын
Good info presented clearly. This was what I needed to see before getting started on my 2011. However, there are a number of extra steps taken in this video that I found are not necessary. The only bolt that came out was the one on front (1:07). All others were trapped in the plenum. I didn't even unplug that connector on the TB. Just tilted the whole intake back to front. If you take off the hose that's clamped to the front, there are two more point to disconnect. Instead, take off the one in the rear, and skip the other three. Leaves that whole line attached to the intake. Instead of removing sensor on top (0:20), I just unplugged it. And instead of disconnecting the (PCV line? @2:18) on the left side of the intake, I took it off at the valve cover. Gets it out of the way better when removing the intake body, as you have to lift up higher to get over it. Stuff like that. Still gets a thumbs up from me. All the best!

My truck is lifted and on 33s, I need a stool to reach down there lol. I get about 11mpg around town, hopefully the spark plugs make the 3.7L better or I will have to downsize on tires.

Thanks for the video. Are there two pcv valves on these trucks? Or just the one on the driver side?

Mine is missing at 4k and chattering on a cylinder. Do you think changing coils and plugs will help? No codes thrown either
@keepondreaming38702 жыл бұрын
Couldn't hurt, chattering, where?
@markhall34343 жыл бұрын
Good, but missed one more thing to disconnect. That wire harness around the back of the manifold is attached to the manifold.. hopefully just a tie down clip.. cuz it's gonna come off.
@markhall34343 жыл бұрын
Also the coil connectors.. that red POS is very confusing.. Just Rip 'em out.. not needed.. the retainer requires a screw driver push underneath where the Red POS covered up. EZ
@markhall34343 жыл бұрын
It's one of those stupid plastic plugs that fit in a hole in the manifold.. Big 'ol pliers.. yank it straight up.. and cuss Ford used connectors made to be pried apart with a Red POS piece of plastic and taped back together..

How much would a one charge for parts and labor on a simple tune up plus oil change on F150 2014?
@keepondreaming3870 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, I'm not a shop. But im sure it's a 2 hour labor job, most shops are $100 a hour. For the spark plugs job. Oil change 6qt and filter.$ 35-100 depending if u do it or shop does.

Do you replace the gasket under plenum when replacing spark plugs
@keepondreaming38705 жыл бұрын
I am a certified mechanic, you just inspect it for tears or wear. I didn't change mine. You can change them if you want, my car had 123k. They were still good.👍

***Intake was not completed removed. I pulled it to drivers side just enough to get to plugs on pass side . After these were changed. I inspected intake gaskets and reinstalled. Do not over tighten, 🙄 this is a plastic intake!

Believe it was 15 foot pounds, but it's been a minute. This is plastic, just snug, don't torq the shit out of the intake bolts. Do not go he man on them, just snug them up. I didn't use torque wrench or spec, my truck had o issues afterwards
