So glad you made this tutorial Replaced rear rotors trying to troubleshoot pulsing in brake pedal with no vibration in steering wheel Well lever up too was so frozen after using parking brake it wouldn’t release Beat the old rotors until I knocked the brake off of the shoe on both sides. Was immediately back to parts store to buy new shoes for parking brake but returned home to realize the $50 brakes had no other new parts. Will try again tonight. Thumbs up bro

Thanks for doing this. I was coming to the same conclusion (that I was gonna have to put that too spring IN and THEN put the brakes on). You confirmed it. Thanks again!

Love the red tape band-aid! Haha Good vids. I have a 2011 F-150 ecoboost that I’m doing this same stuff to. The shop wanted $1300 to fix my e-brake. I did it for about $120. 😁 Looking forward to more of your vids!

Thanks! Real bandaids just don’t hold up. How many miles you got on the 11 EcoBeast? That’s theft at 1300$. Thanks for kind words, just knowing it helps someone gives me motivation to do more. It’s a lot of work, makes the job twice as long plus editing on top of that, So thanks again!

Your ziptie tip saved me a bunch of time and frustration...so thanks for that. The old parking brake lever was probably just raw steel with mill scale and the new one appears to be zinc coated, so that will probably solve the problem permanently. That said, I'm gonna start exercising my e-brake a couple times every month to breakup any rust formation.
@YouTubeCert10 ай бұрын
Glad it helped, I’d say you’re right between the combination of the zinc and the use of the brake it will probably work for years to come!

i've been through this on my 2016 f150. my remaining problem is the cables. i cannot( don't know how to) separate the cable from the front section that goes into the cab to the pedal. the other problem, if one lives in colder climates is the passenger side cable seizes when temps drop below freezing. even a new cable will do it. the final mount bracket on the rear axle puts too tight a radius on the cable. removed it and things improved. good vids
@YouTubeCert2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment. It is a bit tricky to get parking brake cables loose. I noticed after collapsing springs with zip ties, the rest of the cables loosened where they meet on the three way bracket.
@zacharybielak1271 Жыл бұрын
Just been doing this on my truck. Pull down on the cable coming from the front of the truck. And a bit of slack will slide out. Lock it from sliding back with vise grips. And then you should have enough slack to get the drivers side cable detached from the clip that connects the two. Hope that helps in the future!

how did you get the springs compressed?
@maxtap1 Жыл бұрын
My spring is soo tight its almost impossible to push back and get on the loop.
@YouTubeCert Жыл бұрын
Zip ties 2-3 should do it depending on size of zip tie
@YouTubeCert Жыл бұрын
Push them thru the springs and tighten them a little bit at a time to keep them from breaking.

Im pretty sure my e brake is stuck on, im having a hard to time finding a video on just getting unstuck for now. How would I go about this?
@YouTubeCert3 ай бұрын
Probably have to take everything apart and see where it’s hanging up.

Followed this video and was so happy to get everything back on. I went to put the new rotor on and now it doesn’t fit!! It seams as though the new parking brake pads has too much “meat” on them. I adjusted the star shaped adjuster and it still won’t fit. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
@YouTubeCert14 күн бұрын
I’d make sure you have everything lined up correctly and if everything is in place, I’d make sure you have the correct parts, auto parts stores often give the wrong parts for the model.

Hey man, does Ford leave enough room to press out, and press in new extended hub studs while in here doing the parking break? It's either that or I've got to pull the axle shafts.
@YouTubeCert Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t be able to say for certain, I’ve never ran extended studs, but I’d say yes, probably be able to sneak them in between the brakes and then use a big socket and an open lug nut to pull them in and seat them. Let me know how it goes!?

I did mine at 58k what a mess, on one side one clip and a pin just vanished the pad pretty much were non existent one fell of the steal all four rotors and brake pads were shot which made me question were did Ford get these parts made I am thinking the cheapest place on the planet.
