Thanks a ton for posting this. Had the exact same issue as you. Glad I'm able to repair and all it cost me was time and a zip tie! Props for a simple video with no fluff, either!

This is exactly what was wrong with my 2012 . Mine came off when I tried to open the back door when it was frozen. Perfect tutorial.

Quick question if you happen to read this soon. i have the same issue. Couldn't u just take the door handle off and then pop the csble back on without removing the entire door panel ? Thanks for the vid !

@YOPHILLYYO 9 months late but yes, you could in theory. It's just a matter of having space to work in

This video got me back on track! Thanks man! It was so cold this morning in Texas and the door was kinda stuck at first. Pull on it a little harder than usual and it came open but once I shut it, that was it. Couldn’t get it open. This was the EXACT issue too! Thanks again! Saved me some cash.

Thank you so much for this video. Second time this has happened on my 2010 F-150, the first time a body shop fixed it and it was expensive. Thanks to your video, I fixed it this time and used your zip-tie suggestion which was pure genius. I've liked and subscribed. T.C.

Thank you so much. My 2010 F150 had this issue. I was able to reattach the cable with only removing the handle and leaving the door panel on. It certainly was harder but with a needle nose pliers, I was able to do it. Great advice with the zip tie! That should keep it from coming off again.
@sullydog1017 күн бұрын
Awesome I was wondering if that would work. Going to try mine without taking the whole panel off first

Thanks! You helped make this repair on my 2013 F-150 relatively simple. Both of my cables were out of the guides on the latch. The zip tie takes out that extra bit of slack in the cables and should prevent them from backing out in the future.

Awesome instructions! Single female with a 2009 F150 here, living paycheque to paycheque...I was able to do this repair myself & thanks to your zip-tie trick, I 'fixed' my passenger door before it gives up (felt like it was on its way out).

Thanks for the help! I have a 2015 and was a breeze thanks to your video! I didn’t even have to take the full panel off to do the fix.

Just did this today with the help from your video on my 2009 F-150. Took more time to disassemble/reassemble everything than to fix the issue!

Thank you, Chris. I did my when it was about 33 degrees outside. The handle was the biggest hurdle taking it apart. Putting the cable back into the slot was difficult for me on my 2014 F150 XLT. I did put a little bit of cable grease when I had it apart on the cable once I got the zip-tied done. The seatbelt cover was the hardest. Putting it back together, once I got it slipped back over the tensioner. Thanks again, the video was very helpful.

I am prepping to swap out my left rear door cable (random car alarm while parked and when the alarm is not set, the lights come on randomly as if the rear door was opened). I couldn't find a supercab panel removal video for this job, the closest I found was on the crew cab, which is significantly different! I appreciate your stable photography and positive attitude. Also, I didn't even know that the door latch was potentially going to be an issue in the future! Well done.

Just curious why you needed to take off all the trim if the loose cable was part of the handle mechanism which came off early in the process? I guess I will see soon enough since mine is doing the exact same thing and I am tackling it one day this week. I figured it was something simple like this. I lubed up my other door since now that I see this I am left wondering it it happened because the mechanisms' needed to be lubed - which mine did for sure? Anyway, nice job sir !! I get it now. I just did the first step and see that you cannot get the cable back in it's place. Not until you remove the panels too allow the latch mechanism to come out further so you put the cable back in the proper spot.
