Mark they will look at the crash bar as structural as its what holds each leg together so it's a cat s as it's damaged. Just it's a easy cat s to sort.

Copart is just a auction house. Insurance assessors don't work for copart they work for insurance companies. A car after a crash is recovered to a garage or wherever to be assessed then it gets sent to copart if the insurance company decide to rite it off. Sometimes they actually view the car sometimes it's off photos.

you should vacuum up the fuel before starting. otherwise there is a risk of damaging the high-pressure pump.

There surely must be used red bumpers and bonnets out there, very common colour and no issues with colour mismatch?

Hi mark, I’ve the same car same engine,, 74,000 miles, FSH so it’s been looked after, it starts up runs drives but intermittently cuts out, today I had the car running/idling for 30mins and it cut out… wouldn’t start back up and no codes shown and can’t see anything leaking?

Surely that hole in the pipe would pee out diesel everywhere ? That looks like the pipe has been damaged from someone trying to put a clamp on it. Those are hard plastic pipes with no flex in them and I can't even see where something would rub through it. Just looking at the fuel filter the damage stands out, maybe a cack handed fuel filter change at some point 🤔

It’s now a well oiled business model between the insurance companies and Copart. Gone have the days of properly assessing damage and repairing accordingly. This model seams to fit the government’s ideology on us all driving newer cleaner cars but ignoring the environmental impact of car manufacturing those cars, particularly when the only enemy in most cases is CO2. Maybe it’s just a better working model for the insurance companies who only care about profit , who knows? As you have pointed out, some cars get categorised incorrectly which has an effect on the value and desirability when selling on, should you purchase one of these cars or purchase your own car back.

Mark totally feel your rant, miss categorising the cars are just unloading the costs back on the general motorists; I'd like to know what profits these insurance companies are kicking use for each year...... Having NCD and protection doesn't mean anything these days .......... Cheers Rich1899

On the diesel fiesta could you not just cut the pipe where it's split then put both ends in a section of rubber pipe and clamp it tight. Even if it's just to try it temporarily til the new pipes turn up but £175 is extortionate. Worth a try

Mark, you could check your theory about the leaking pipe before the new one arrives by either tightly insulating taping it or if poss. try and get a bit of heat shrink over it then tape it, you never know........ Cheers Rich1899

Great video Mark and the fiesta should now be all sorted out after finding that but it's a wait for some pipes lol!! Wow it seems a bit expensive for what it is so they know how to make money but on some parts they are cheap lol! Great new project the fiesta but I must agree with you that it's a cat n not s but it helps to get it cheaper I would think?? It will be a lovely car when it's been sorted by Mark the car will be given a perfect life again with all of your touches!! Stay safe and see you soon on the next one Mark

Agree with your argument about Cat N or S ….. just a quick question for my thoughts….how would you know if it was already a Cat S before this crash… and that’s why it was written off…? 🤔

Good shout on those pipes looks like no primer bulb so had the revised part on. Ive seen cat s that should be N amd vice versa i think it depends on the assesor at the salvage years

Totally agree with you Mark. Category damage is not being Investigated correctly by the Insurance companies. You and other channels I subscribe too. Come across very very. The same thing. 🛠🛠
