Hi everybody
On this video I am working on ford focus 1.0 ecoboost turbo 3cyl. The timing belt turns in the oil and this creates a lot of small particlar in the oil and this leads to block the oil pump filter in the oil sump, components Will be damaged like turbo, camshafts bearing, camshafts, pistons.

The engine was serviced with the wrong oil specification, thats why we cannot trust on local garages they think all the 5w30 are the same.The oil for this engine is made by castrol with the Ford specs otherwise the belt stars to shread apart and the oil pimp intake filter gets clogged.

Just happened to mine. Only done 60,000. Car is always serviced on time. There was nothing to suggest issues. Then yesterday, the oil pressure light came on, and the car shut down. Why won’t Ford pay out on this. They should be liable for a design floor in their engine.

did you use the right oil? With the Ford C948 specs? If not, the belt falls apart and beltpieces block the sump of the oilpump...

@@joskd8491 can’t be 100% sure. Arnold Clarke knowingly sold a dud. They didn’t include the first couple of years service history in the log book. Said it was cleaner than a cats ass and they’d send service history at a later date. They didn’t send SH and I forget to chase them. It was early in covid, streets still like 28 Days Later, and we needed a car. Within a year of very light driving it blew and required a new engine. A brand new Ford engine has since been fitted and it’s now running fine. First 1000 mile oil change is tomorrow. After that…getting rid of it. Never getting another EcoBoost. Certainly not a 1.0l. Love the Focus model though. The older diesel Mii ran forever and was always cheap and easy to repair.

I have a new hpfp on the way and i changed my belt at 90k miles. 15% of the teeth were missing and pickup was clogged - but never had any warning lights come up. I have changed my oil between service and done more than the average serviced EcoBoost. Oil needs to be changed often and you need to drive it warm atleast once a week so the gasoline can evaporate because of the direct injection. Mine smells of gasoline from the oil even when warmed up - so be weary of this too - the hpfp can leak through the seal and it bypasses directly into the oil. Dunno how much damage this already has done - but its still drives okai..

using the wrong oil causes to damage the belt. Then the belt falls apart and the beltpieces block the sump, causing a shortage of oilpressure, which leads to engine failure.. So use the right oil and change oil and filter regularly

Сколько масло не меняй, хоть через 5000 км, полимерные частицы ремня имеют свойство слипаться, и их можно только смыть специальными растворителями, а не новым маслом. Это решение с ремнём в масле порочное в принципе и направленно на замену всего двигателя или автомобиля. No matter how much oil you change, even after 5000 km, the polymer particles of the belt tend to stick together, and they can only be washed off with special solvents, and not with new oil. This decision with a belt in oil is vicious in principle and is aimed at replacing the entire engine or car.

You definitely have to use a special kind of oil that is approved by ford. Usual oil will destroy the belt.
