TLDR: CHECK THE MEGA FUSE IN BATTERY CAGE FIRST. I'm the guy that always reads and never posts. Had to post this time. I have 2015 ford focus SE 2.0L. My fan would not come on and car was overheating. Changed temp sensor - no fix. reset computer - no fix. Checked all relays and (what i thought were) all fuses - no fix. Bought a new control module - no fix. Bought a new fan and new control module because the original control module was a take off - no fix, i didn't even install it, deemed not fixed just by plugging it in. Changed both up and downstream o2 sensors - again no fix. So now im $400 in and, today i decided to completely clean the battery and inspect all the wiring from the fan with much more detail. There is a bridge connector on the front panel of the battery junction box with several high current fuses. The cooling fan is junction 8 and has a 50 amp AM1 MIDI fuse that was blown. Remove the air filter box (not the filter just take out the entire box), pry the front cover off the battery junction box (not the battery) and you will see the same color wire as the control module connector going into a 50 amp fuse at junction 8. Scroll down to the bottom of this guys help guide to see a diagram of the junction box diagram. ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/2012-ford-focus-fuse-diagram/ This fixed the problem, i suspect the original control module wasn't even bad - but i dont know because i tried to pry it apart to see what failed - they are glued dont try. maybe with a heat gun? Now i just have to see if i can return the temp sensor, fan assembly, and o2 sensors. I guess it was stupid of me not to check this, but i didn't know it existed - no mention in the manual or any forums. Today i learned. Also, this will help anyone who was in my situation: 1. The cooling can on a 2012-2018 ford focus 2.0L should always turn on when the AC is on. 2. The cooling fan on a " " should turn on at exactly 105*C (at least min died) and then off at 102*C. Hold menu and start the ignition to go into test mode, scroll down to see the actual engine temp. 3. You can check all the relays by starting the car and feeling for a click in the relay. 4. If you hot wire the fan straight to the 12V battery and the thing turns on, its not broken - dont replace it. 5. If you are getting a temperature on the test mode screen, the temp sensor works, dont replace it. Hope this helps someone.

@@shuffler2g12 the MEGA fuse he's talking about: you know the plastic "plate" that you have to unclip and pull back to get the battery out? The MEGA fuse panel is inside that plastic plate/door. You'll know it because the positive battery lead wire goes to a bolt that attaches to a plate going into that plastic piece. You have to pull out the wire harness to the fuse box next to the battery to access it. Once you pull that harness and pull the clips off holding the wire to that plastic piece you're going to take a flat head driver and carefully pry the lid off to access the MEGA fuses. Their are 6, I believe, under there. They're just flat metal plates with a colored plastic piece in the center with a number on it, bolted to the big plate inside. You're looking for the second 50a MEGA fuse from the right side. You can test It with a multimeter to check flow. I DOUBT that's the problem because that fuse is ALSO the battery junction box fuse, meaning if THAT blew not only would your fan not ever work, but nothing would work, no ignition, no interior power, no wipers, no nothing. But, yeah, there is your guide lol.

But yet I looked in my hood and the module is this same exact part number from Bosch. Do all the sites have the fact wrong that this fits 2012’s as well, or was my fan assembly replaced already with a different fan assembly than the original? For some reason I was led to believe I needed to buy a whole new assembly for my 2012 because the module was soldered to the fan itself. That apparently isn’t the case. Can anyone shine a light on what is going on here? Lol
