Thanks to you guys we found out that the timer was set wrong in the previous upload of this video. It now starts at the right time! 4.7s to 100 km/h, very impressive we think..

Agree, it isn't impressive. The Type R does 100-200 in 14 sec, also not that impressive but goes to show the RS is too heavy. Remapped the Type R does 100-200 in 9 sec, that's beginning to be impressive! :)

I drived the 2019 version with 450 hp in my mountain , was really really amazing !!!!!! The gearbox was perfect , the seat perfect, the engine perfect. I loved it

@@johndc2998 yes i asked again the owner ( a frined of mine) and it is 400 hp not 450, i was wrong in the first comment. I still recomend that beast after all this time. Just be ready to possible engine components problem and DO before time replacement of chain , tensioner etc... etc.. and everything should be perfect.

Have you tested the acceleration from 80 to 120 hph in different gears? I got these times: III-3s, IV-3.6s, V-4.4s

The Focus RS in it's league it's pretty much Performance, ties with Audi, WV, Merc RS hatchback counterparts. Performance isn't just Bugatti or Lambo or Ferrari or any other ridicolously quick/fast car.

@Fisted Sphincter yeah but for European roads not enough, in germany you need a car like the focus or maybe another lightweight car to be drive fast... In america maybe its enough cause bigger and straight roads. In accelerate its not the best, but to have fun and drive fast corners its a great car. Sure it gives better cars, but the price is very good. You pay more you get more. Maybe pay 10k more you get a lotus and fuck everything in track

try a high performance tune on an rs extra 30 hp 30per cent mode torque absolutely scream had mine over 285 klms per hour and backed off its was timed at 0 to 100k in 4.4 seconds

i believe if i read correctly the rs engine has a small difference. i know power output is hgher on the rs, im not 100% but i think the internals are different on the 'stang

It's based off the same 2.3 liter ecoboost engine but it is NOT the same! different cams, header, exhaust, turbos, intercooler are all upgraded for the RS...just to name a few

i ahave a question. why do shift so close to redline cut off? surely you would kno when the optimal time is to shift for overall momentum n peak power. thats what your sgift light is for isnt it? im fully open to criticism 👍

From what I read - the shift light comes on early to cut down fuel consumption. Ford is trying to trick people :-)

I know this is old, but it's generally better to shift close to the redline even if the power drops a bit. Even with slightly lower power, being in a lower gear means you're putting more power to the ground compared to being at peak power but in a higher gear.

Esc off then it will be faster. Thats why you had the delay when you released the clutch. Sport mode, esc off, gas should be with the light on, and hold the gas pedal when shifting from 1st to 2nd. And thats youre 4,7 0-100. And dont over rev it in 1st gear. If you launch it with the Esc on it will intrerupt power delivery to avoid wheel spin. Your welcome.

The RS isn't blistering quick stock, but just $1000-$1500 later, and it could easily be a 400hp hot hatch, doing 0-60mph runs in 4.4 seconds or faster at sea level and right conditions

I can't reply in Deutsch but it depends on what you want to use it for. The RS is faster in a straight line and damp/wet weather. The Clubsport S is faster on the track as it's specifically tailored for it. It doesn't have a backseat, a radio or aircon however. As for weight. The RS weighs 1460 kg dry, the Clubsport S weighs 1285 kg dry.

Note the engine BOG when using Launch Control. A faster 0-100 time is possible by deft use of clutch. Phenomenal tire grip makes LC ineffective.

Cupra has around 300hp in reality,and weights at least 150kg less. Also these nice times are with the dsg. Logic. For what it is, the Focus is a very good package.

the leon cupra is much lighter and ford has 4wd.... not to mention ford has cheap manual. if they put on a proper DSG like golf-R or the one in the RS3, it will shed some seconds off, but again will increase weight.... they need to bring the engine to 400hp to help to cope with the weight...

Who in their right mind would want a dual clutch auto in a car like this? They put a manual gearbox in because that's what makes the driving experience. Ford already use the Getrag box in other models.

Brutal 0-100kph for a manual heavy car. But I find that from 3rd gear, the gears are too long. And that make the car a little bit "slow" compared with the rivals in straight line at high speeds. Just like the ST. Still, great car. Wish I had the money to buy one .

I ve driven this thing at Slovakia Ring And the biggest disadvantages of RS are 1. Kerb weight its 1599 kg, as heavy as the Audi RS3 2. Slow manual gearbox 3. A slight dead spot in power band between 5500-6500 rpm where engine makes more sound but less progress But aside that the car is a gem, I am sure a future classic

+Ponygt 662 It has one of the best manual gear boxes out...it is slower than the DCT of course but it isn't slow. It also has one of the best torque vextoring AWD systems on the market and the best in its class.

LJ Balongue Lets disagree to agree first See I am a Ford guy,drives a Fieata ST, I am honest here, the RS is a great car and arguably the best hot hatch money can buy,but its not without its disadvantages, Slovakia Ring is a super long track withong sweeping turns and generally a power track, When I pushed the RS on such a track I easily understood its shortcomings, See I have driven the Type R and Leon Cups SC280 on this track as well, so on comparison the RS manual gearbox is way slower than Tupe Rs, 1,2,3 shifts take at least 1.1.5s slower than what Tupe R can manage, Focus RS gearbox is not even as good as VW Golf 7Rs gearbox, The weight of RS plays a signifocant role in performance post 100 mph, I felt it didnt have the punch as it used to have between 0-100 mph, Then the engine,it isnt as revv happy as Hondas or even VWs tsi engine,but its not bad by any means, and its power tapers off significantly post 5500 rpm, from 5500-6500 rpm, one will hear more noise from engine but less prohress , I would have bought the Focuz RS then but I am waiting for the RS500, i am sure RS500 is in the making, a birdie informs the 2017 February launching RS500 will have a kerb weight in vicinity of 1450 kg, ie nearly 150kg lighter, a Tremec 6 speed manual, recaliberated ECU,susepension,TCS,for making the next RS500 a true Porsche killer

@@ponygt6629 weight doesn't play any significant role after 100MPH, don't understand why this mistake is made by so many of you guys. Weight is most important when launching from a standstill and in corners. Once you gain significant speed it's drivetrain loss and aero that become the most important. And the truth is that this car's AWD system, as amazing as it is, introduces a large amount of drivetrain loss. That's why it's starting to feel sluggish after 100KPH. Also, you guys need to understand that this car's made to give you rally style fun, not break track records. Ford's never been interested in smashing track records, that's why you never find their cars attempting records at the Nurburgring for example. Aside from the likes of GT500 or Ford GT, evidently.

Fix or repair daily....the car is not build for the drag race.... It's built for the track and I would still take the type R over this car. Check out the Motortrend article having the four hot hatches compete against each other. The type R is the winner.

Let's now take a big laugh at everyone that really believed an AWD 350hp car with launch control would do a 0-100 km/h just as quick as a GTi 230 DSG :)

GTI 230DSG does 0-100 kmph in 6.1s while the Focus RS manual does 0-100 kmph in 5.54s as per this video, sure its not the worlds fastest car, the 0-200 kmph is 19.2s same as the VW Golf 7R manual, the dSG is even more fast, bu this car is not about straight line speed, its all in the bends

skycrap Yes, the Focus RS is insane at corners, I mean ,U wont understand a word that I mite say unless U ve driven the RS, In striaght line and even at moderate speed corners the RS feels like a FWD car, but the moment U go crazy on throttle of the RS it rewards with insane RWD nature,We will b able to feel the power at outside rear wheel swinging and rotating the chassis, Its incredible for a small C Chassis car to have such kind of skill. The RS hangs on to long corners a bit more than I would like,because the weight pushes it outward a lot,also in straight line itself one will feel the cars weight pushing it down oost 150 kmph, The weight is a penalty to the RS AWD syztem as well as chassis which is now 6 years old, But I am 100% sure an RS500 is coming with lighter body and a much better transmission.

Ponygt 662 I indeed did not drove the Focus RS. I sure believe that it is a lot of fun to drive, but for me weight is a crucial factor. Like you say, it will push you outwards in corners. For a c-segment car the ideal setup would be a FWD with mechanical lock. That's not surprisingly the same lay out as my own Alfa Romeo Giulietta. My car weights, hold on.... 400(!!) kg less than the focus, despite it is the same size and got even better materials inside. I did do drive a normal Focus, which had a very good handling already, but the Giulietta is my opinion just one step ahead and even more precise and direct. Does not mean I won't like to get drive the new RS. Looks a lot of fun to me, but fast? No! Not on the straight, not in the bends.

skycrap I drive a Fiesta ST by thr way, Sure Alpha drives better ans weighs less,but I didnt like its engines,also lack of service centres and some reliability horror stories made me stay away from Alpha brand, I also didnt like Alpha ergonomics and back seat space. Regarding Focus RS, I did test drive the Focus RS and the new Type R back to back,the Type R did a 2:32.xx in my hands and the Focud RS did a 2::34.xx, But I wont say RS is slow,its bloody fast, And light weight+fwd+less front overhang means the car can be a weapon,but light weight+awd means it can be a mini GTR, The new Audi TTS is one such example,I mean I got 12.2 kmpl overall mileage withit on a 200 km road trip and then when I floor it, OMG,its so damn fast that I even felt why should we need v8s and v6s any more,its that fast with that DSG,but again feel wise,involvement wise and fun factor wise its no where near as RS,I think the Leon Cupra 280 is a fwd car that csn really hang on with RS in terms of feel etc and Megane RS beats Focus RS in feel etc but its lack of power and features and packaging at times makes less semse compared to RS. Also Focus RS fights Golf 7R and Typr R,Megane RS 275 etc, and check out this comparison lap times, in fact Focus RS beats type R and GolfR handily, www.zeperfs.com/en/perfs.php?Action=Duel&Marque=Ford&Modele=Focus%20III&Version=RS The RS is a killer package,sure its a little over hyped but its not like its too over hyped snd had no substance,it does have substance snd has really made the hot hatch territory squashed up,because it offer a huge bit for not much money which its competition cannot digest easily.

Youre right this suck ballz. 12sec 0-160 and 19.2sec 0-200 is terrible for 350hp. Any stock s3 or golf r with 300hp does 11s and 16.5s and stage1 9s and 14s

To heavy. Weight is crucial for me to have fun on a b-road. I've test drove one and it was just as quick as my Mk golf r which is a manual and milltek exhaust. Turbo back.

The Fords are really sadly slow. A Golf 7 GTI with 230hp is alomst as fast as this cars. 🤷‍♂️ Its definitely the cooler and nicer car, but where is the power?

5.5sec to speedo 100 . THat means in this video this RS needs 5.5 sec to reach real 95-96kmph. maybe there was an uphill (or bad shiftin, thx for the update :) )

@@MNightbirb I measured with a Vbox 6,16 seconds 0-100 on a 200hp Polo GTI 2018... With 150hp extra and achieving only 5.6 seconds....thats very sad.
