I have a 2012 focus that has not been tampered with. I have the amp and sub. I just need to know the fuse to install and what wire to use for the amp to the battery.

Tip: it’s better to run your power wires down one side and signal (RCA’s) down the opposite side to avoid engine whine through your speakers.

I bought a touchscreen head unit for my 2012 Focus SE Afrom Crutchfield a few months back and picked up the custom harness for it so I didn't have to deal with wiring and splicing.... Well that didn't work.. The "custom" harness they sent me, which was quite pricey, had everything wired so I didn't have to, but didn't have labels on the wires so I was unable to to locate the remote wire and when I called Crutchfield tech/customer support, even they had no idea which wire to use despite them having designed the harness. Now I sit here still unable to install an amp because I didn't have the time in the first place to do volt tests in each wire to find a suitable and the time saving I was supposed to get by purchasing their custom harness was a complete fail. If they don't know their own stuff, I guess I'll have to find the time to do the tests and set it up myself. Is there one you know of from the factory side of the harness that could be used for remote? I watched your video, but it seems some of your wires are not the same color combination as mine. Mine was not modified in any way prior to my installing of the harness and since the harness is plug and play, nothing has been modified still.

I have everything in place.. Just need that remote wire. If it's something I'll have to run myself, is there an alternative way I could set it up with maybe a manual switch to supply the switch power? I have no problem with flicking a switch every time I get in the car to run the radio. Maybe a constant power source/wire and a toggle or a rocker I could place to manually control it?

Hi mate great informative video, I got 2018 st3 I wanna fit my boxed edge amp n sub ,haven't got the Sony head unit, I've got fords sync 3 no blue remote wire for amp on off ,got high input converter, just want to know did the F85 fuse work for u ,did it shut amp off with ignition OK,no flat battery lol, or have you found another simple option bruvver, would be ever so grateful for your reply as alot of folks don't answer cheers mate be lucky john UK

Power comes from the battery. Remote turn on comes from the fuse slot I used. Positive and negative Signal for the right and left speakers come from behind the head unit.

i used the same speaker signals as this car but my subwoofer volume doesnt go down when i change the volume on my head unit. i can have my volume on the head unit turned all the way down and the sub will still be booming the same. What should i do?

Hey nice install only thing bro that 0 gauge and 4 gauge taped together isn't a good idea I had a buddy do that and his car almost caught fire it's not a good connection and will start getting hot due to poor connection that 0 gauge wire can handle a whole lot more amps then that 4 gauge I'd just get u all 0 gauge and have 1 full piece plz change it dont want your hard work going up in flames

Do you get lows with this factory radio? I have focus 2014 with sync 2 and it has high pass filter set to around 50-60hz as stock so I don't really get the lows

@@dannytime2145 only by using forscan to program it but it doesn't work with every ford model and year. i just replaced it with a pioneer double din head unit with all the crossovers and speaker level controls while retaining wheel controls

Jesus Christ...that power wire is for a flux capacitor not a sub and amp....

that's the best way for the pillar molding go through the bottom otherwise you gotta take the seat belt off

Jesus Sandoval watch the video from the 9-10 minute mark and it’ll give you the wire colors to splice behind the head unit.

Wouldn’t you wire the signal off your factory subwoofer so when you touch your volume it doesn’t adjust the subwoofer you’re installing? And the beeping for the backup sensors will play out of the subwoofer. Tap the factory subwoofer wires, onky two sets not all four though. For anyone watching. I know you sold this car

This was an ST 1 model. No factory sub. And it was already wired. I just added what wasn’t there that I needed. It worked great though until I sold it. I pulled the sub and amp.

Where at under the seat is it grounded

Hey great tutorial here. Learned a lot watching this. I just have 1 question. Did you check the voltage coming out of the No. 85 fuse ? Im wiring up a volt meter as well and want to use the same connection without tapping into too many fuses. if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome. P.S. i've ran all my wiring for the volt meter to the fuse box im waiting to go to the store to pick up the fuse socket tap.

Get a power tester and test and find ones that are off when the cars off but on when the cars on

How many watts is the amp?

Abel Castaneda RMS is 1000 watts but it’s a Hifonics brand amp. They are great amps and last forever but they’re wattage is definitely overrated. If I had to guess it’s around 700-850 actual wattage.

PLEASE DO NOT run your RCA cables with the power wire it will make noise into your speakers and its a pain to have to take it all out! so if your power wire is on the passenger side your RCA'S go on the drivers doesn't matter just don't let them touch!
