We just found out how to start the car when your key fob battery dies - you should post this- so many people don’t know that you can remove the cup holder liner and put the dead key fob in the bottom of the cup holder and the sensor picks up the fob so u can drive the car -

I hadn't thought about that, but that doesn't surprise me. That's where you put the key fob to program a new one. (assuming you have the 2 fobs necessary) NFC circuits commonly can be powered completely via induction and the only information that the card probably needs could be transmitted like that. This is also why it's such a good idea to know what the combination for the car is if your car has one. It gets you into the car without a working key.

@@Dontbeafraid2 yes they did - the hybrid transmissions were improved in 2017 '13-'16 had some issues where certain percentages of them would have an early death just due to miles - not maintenance or anything else

I recently (last month) traded my '14 Fusion SE for a '18 Fusion SE simply because I loved the '14 I had and figured I'd get another one before they discontinue them next year. I love the new touchscreen Sync 3 system and I anticipate it being just as good as my '14 was. The things I don't like are minor: - Like the '14 it has the most useless sun visors ever. They're too small to block anything. - I guess in '16 or '17 they removed the signal lights in the mirrors from the SE models and now they're only available in the Titanium. Bummer. - The removed the pull handle in the trunk for some reason. I thought this was so handy in closing the trunk and I have no clue why they removed it. I enjoyed my '14 SE very much and hopefully the '18 serves me well too.

Just got a 2020 in the same color as this- it’s got the driver assist function, auto high beams (I disabled it within 2 days) and emergency braking. Car shuts off at stop lights -the mirrors have an indicator of when a car is in your blind spot- all standard in the SE. Hard to believe this car is no longer going to be in production- so sad!

Yeah, the CEO of Ford admitted that Ford made some big blunder decisions about future production. They set everything on e-vehicles, and those are now totally bumming out.... nobody wants them. BMW is the same, same for Porsche and Mercedes. The e-vs are sitting on the showroom floor and not moving anymore. I think it was high time people came to their senses... e-vs still use fossil fuel, nothing has changed on that... you just don't see it anymore... and it wastes energy in the process of transforming the fossil fuel to electric then storing it and retrieving it when driving... highly inefficient!

What most people may not know... and I was in that group until lately: The Ford Fusion Titanium is the almost 100% match to the BMW 5 series: the only difference is that my 2015 Fusion does not have a heated steering wheel, it does not have foldable mirrors when locking the car, it does not have heated rear row seats, and the automated seat adjustments don't have that one front part as a separate element. Other than that, all is equal and of equal quality. Makes my respect for Ford cars grow even more! And .... not to mention you get all that luxury at Ford for 1/4 of the price of the Beemer! Sweet!

Not all Fusions have the large touch screen or synch 3. Mine has a 4-5 screen and all the buttons are hard buttons.

You need both plates. Front & back displayed: State law requires vehicle owners to display two license plates, one at the exterior front and one at the exterior rear of the vehicle. Plates must be securely fastened in the horizontal position of not less than 12 inches from the ground, measuring from the bottom. I'm not sure about the 2017, but the 2016 Fusion has the unique feature of making all human speech inaudible if you drive over 45 mph and roll down a back window. The wind buffeting in the cab is so horrendous you can't even hear yourself scream when your ears start bleeding.

not just ford.. most if not all 4 door cars have this problem.. if the back window is down, you can roll it up, or just crack open a diff window to stabilze air pressure in the car

My 2016 Fusion of 40K miles also has a wonderful feature where the instrument cluster won't power up. I can drive it without cluster lights, a speedo, an odometer, or even a gas gauge. The dealer,s advice was to check every fuse in all three fuse panels and pull the battery to reset the computer, but no dice Mr. Ford. I pity anyone else that has to pull a fuse from the panel that's jammed above the steering column behind the cluster. The manual literally says to remove the dash trim panels to get to..... a friggin' fuse. Ford must have outsourced this engineering marvel to Chrysler.

Here's an update. I had to take the vehicle to the local Ford dealer to have the entire instrument cluster replaced. The bill was over 800 dollars and Ford won't pay any of it. This in spite of the fact that there are tech bulletins and recalls on other vehicles with the same problem.

Yeah I hear ya! My second 2017 Fusion I owned radio went out at like 37,000 miles right when the bumper to bumper warranty went out. Ford didn’t wanna make it right so I traded it in and purchased another one. I haven’t had any issues with this one.

For all: The state of Texas requires both a front and back plate. You could get a ticket if the officer decides to do so. Be safe.

I think that's the case in most states. You're required to have however many license plates the vehicle has holders for. So cars, generally need a front and a back one. But, motorcycles, scooters and trikes generally only need one.

How about this: if your car windows, sunroof etc are down, simply hold down the lock button on the fob for about 4-5 seconds. Theyll go up, and quickly release button. The opposite if you want them up. Open windows/ sunroof: press/hold unlock button (4-5 sec) Close windows/sunroof: press and hold lock button, (4-5 sec) Release!

The "Large Screen" is called 'My Ford Touch' and is a option. I've had experience with MFT, and you're better off with the simple Sync System. I'm personally happy my Fusion didn't have MFT.

Yes it does. My dealer didn’t mention it to me at all, and then I randomly discovered it. You have to press the lock button and then press the 2x button twice and it’ll turn on

Hidden Features? You did not find a single hidden feature, so sorry! All of this is totally known and unhidden! How ever, one thing that is somewhat mysterious and not easy to find in the manual is that display, at the bottom of the center of the windshield, where you can see a very slender tiny screen, and it says "off, on" and something I have not decoded yet. I suspect it has to do with the perimeter sensing of obstacles, but not sure. It can obviously be turned on and off, mine says "off". If only I knew how to access this and what it is for, that would have been a great help! But... maybe you have not figured this one out yet, either??? Thanks for the video, nonetheless! ciao!😀
