I was an early adopted of a Jaguar I-Pace and recently replaced it with a 2023 Mach -E Premium AWD. While there was definitely more overall plush and features in the I-Pace, I was amazed at how much better packaged and refined the Mach-E was. The lack of road noise was something I noticed immediately and a quick DB test during the test drive confirmed it. The icing on the cake was the range. In my 2023, I'm able to pull around 300 miles at a consistent 70 MPH on a car that claims to get around 280 (yes this is with HVAC on and I've reproduced it a few times for the Tesla fans who are going to inevitably challenge it). Also for the Tesla fans who will start immediately talking about DC charging and FSD- I don't care. I take almost monthly regional trips between Washington and Oregon. My experience in the I-Pace demonstrated that I don't need 250 kW charging and I've had pretty decent and consistent experiences with DC fast charging in my region. If I were going to prioritize charging speed, I would have bought a Kia or Lucid (atm my Mach-E is a placeholder for a potential 3 row SUV like a Lucid Gravity or Ford Explorer, maybe a Rivian or an EV9 if I don't end up liking either of those). As far as FSD, I had an opportunity to buy a Model Y with FSD in 2020, and I'm glad I didn't. I would've been frustrated with the fact that it wasn't transferable, and that they ended up not making good on their promise to deliver FSD retrofits beyond HW3- and this is in addition to the back and and forth with features like smart summon. Your opinion is valid, but it doesn't invalidate mine. If you choose to be happy in spite of Musk misleading you, that's your business. About the only features I wish Ford would implement is Sentry, but even then, I'm not missing it that much. As far as range, I have friends with the MY that take trips similar to me and have a hard time reaching the estimated range at highway speeds, let alone surpassing them. And Sandy, we do have PAAK. Yes Ford gave me a FOB, but it stays at home and I never use it. Even better, with the keypad on the door I can get in and start the car with a PW on the screen even when my phone is dead- we technically don't even need a phone. Would be cool if Ford (and others) expand this to facial recognition as key. Ultimately I'm im a pretty happy customer with my Mach-E and imagine Iwouldve been happier if I waited for the 2024.

There's ALWAYS something better just around the corner if only you wait a little longer... Eventually you just gotta go for it, and be happy with your choice. Seems like you are, so good for you! :D I always liked the Mach-E, even when "everybody" pooped on it for being a crossover with a Mustang name. Sure, it was a bit unrefined initially, owing to the speed with which it was developed, but it was still a good car, even if there were a few others that were technically better. Also, at least I thought it looked pretty cool... It was also rather popular for an EV early on - there was mostly just Tesla if you wanted a large refined family EV, and not that much else to choose from (like fat E-tron, which was thirsty and really expensive and so on), so when the Mach-E first appeared you saw quite a lot of them in my country - at least as far as EVs go. Now of course there's lots more choice from many other manufacturers. So this proves people like variety, and having more choice is a good thing, not a bad thing. And competition is definitely not a bad thing! It's like, the only thing that's really any damn good with capitalism, so... ;)

With cell service/WiFi FordPass will lock the doors and remote start climate. All of the above without a physical key when PaaK is enabled. A third option for getting in the car without a key is a code on the driver door sill TouchPad, and another code on the center tablet screen to start and drive away. 😊

It's the "same" essentially for all cars running the most current updates. In theory my MY22.5 is running the same software as the MY24 in terms of features (although it all depends which OTAs Ford has pushed to you) - Ford has not introduced any new software specifically for the MY24 cars AFAIK. They should come with the latest Bluecruise version from the factory, but we've all started getting it OTA recently - I'm running the latest 1.3 version and it's really quite good. The hardware for the centre screen is the same, so I'd expect no improvement in screen lag. I'll give Ford credit here for doing a decent job at keeping all previous models "essentially" the same in terms of features & functionality. There are outliers like some Job 1 '21s, but generally we all get the same stuff.

Keep it and keep it. Don't do what I did to trade in my Tesla for a Mach-e. You will miss maaaany things the Tesla has that Ford doesn't come close to, starting with the software, the phone app, the AC is on while the door is open, the keep on mode, campingmode , dog mode. The Tesla is the better car here, I can tell you that first hand. The Tesla might not have Android Auto or Apple Car, but Ford's implementation of those two is pretty bad. Also, the audio equipment in the Ford is Bang and Olufssen or so they say, and it's not even close to the audio quality of the Tesla. Updates? 😂 You will sorely miss the significant updates you get on the Tesla. Also, Autopilot comes standard, on the Ford you have to pay for something similar that works half the time which is Bluecruise. Don't get me wrong the Mach-e is a good car, but as an EV it is not even close to the market leader.

@jelloMohnny2 ай бұрын
No, still 400v architecture. MY24 does have a new improved cooling/heating system, officially no heat pump, but it's gotten more efficient. There are lots of real engineering changes in this car vs prior year, and he should have gotten into the details more. There is lots going on under the covers
@rusticroads2 ай бұрын
The Mach-E has offered MagneRide shocks since the beginning (in the GT Performance Edition trim). The MY 24 GT consolidates the GT and GTPE trims. Using the same motor as the Lightning is a good thing. It’s a better motor and the increased scale will help in the long run. Don’t get too lost in the tech weeds. Not every vehicle has to have every technology, because there’s always a balance of features, price, etc. HV architecture can actually be a downside, so not every tech buzzword is an advantage that some might think it is in practice.

This truly is an amazing upgrade for Ford so will be interesting to see if the Industry starts taking note as clearly there is some amazing maturation going on with these amazing machines with as usual Tesla so far out ahead of everybody really should give pause to the entire ICE Platform community as to what role they really will be playing in a clearly dominating performance from battery electrics still the growth driver certainly for Ford which hasn't had a great fit and finish vehicle ever in my opinion. The quality of the ICE platform world really and truly is starting to amp up as a trickle of crazy good cars from Europe start to appear as well which may very well turn into a flood given production already located here. I can definitely see why China has been kept out looking at this. Rivian and Lucid have clearly picked up their game big time. Aptera looks set to launch which while disappointing in the final product still will be amazing. Battery electric Boats now hitting the water. General Motors having a very impressive build out of charging infrastructure with Pilot FlyingJ. Everyone going radio silent debbie downer about everything suddenly as well which is such a load of bs given all the *SUCCESSFUL* work being done which makes *ALL* automotive product better sick and tired of *"lame stream media"* which continues to miss out on everything.... even the bad news now!😊
