I have a 2022 Ford Interceptor Utility and I will have to figure out how to do the same thing you did with the silent and dark mode!

Mine is the 2013 version. You know what makes these even more fun is adjusting the throuttle map. Mine was so damn slow with the shifting and takeoff that I got annoyed. So I started bumping up the foot pounds it outputs a little and it's way better. What is best about these vehicles is their turning radius. They can make a U turn most of the time without hitting the curb. Also the brakes are awesome too. Big rotors and stout struts. What does suck on these cars is their water pump change cost. My engine had to be removed for them to change because of it being driven by the timing chain. Good luck finding someone who isn't gonna try and rob you on that repair cost.

I noticed your door chime is playing through your door speakers as opposed to the cheap little speaker behind the dash. Did you do that through Forscan as well? Ford PIU vehicles don’t come standard with the door speaker chime. Edit: I figured it out. For anyone interested in having your door chime play through your speakers like in this video, you will need to go to IPC. 720-01-01 xxxx-xxx4-xxxx Changing that character to a 4 will get the chime to play through door speakers. Changing it to a 0 will make it play only through the speaker behind the instrument panel.

One thing I like about the cvpi is the fact that the dark car mode and the horn chirp confirmation are separate. So when I lock the car it still lights and honks but when I open the doors lights don't come on which I prefer since I'm getting in and out all the time id rather the lights only come on when I turn them on

About 18 MPG with the 3.7 liter engine. The utility is way roomier than the sedan in my opinion also. PIU would be my recommendation.

I never pulled anything that heavy with mine. You’d probably want a brake controller which I don’t think any of them come with, so it would be aftermarket. Maybe check out Explorer Forum, they have a PIU section and I think some of those guys tow a lot.

Definitely a dealer, at the auction only if you are willing to take a risk. The dealer usually performs baseline checks, idle hours, etc
@TodayinKansasCity3 жыл бұрын
3.7L is far more common, thus cheap. 3.5 is faster, but I’d prefer a cheaper and simpler naturally aspirated engine, especially if it has high mileage.

Commenting Account Yup, in fact I just had mine into the dealership for that and two other recalls!
@asdfasdf4345artsdfg6 жыл бұрын
What about the exhaust manifolds? Ford mentioned that the exhaust leak is solely because some 3rd-party companies install police equipment incorrectly; however, I recently found out that some of those who own civilian Explorers have apparently also experienced these issues. Some are saying that the problem isn't just due to poorly-mounted equipment-it's also potentially a fault in the manufacturing process. I'm kind of disappointed, because I'd like to get one of these vehicles some day. I'm leaning towards the Taurus-based Interceptor because I feel it's less risky to go with.

7:30 is when you lost me, you installed the push bumper to "park by touch, or push anything around". First off I if I witnessed you parking by touch on my car you'd have a problem on your hands and I'd have the real Police there to deal with you. There was no reason to install the push bumper other than you wanted it to look like an in service FPIU. Your what us old school Crown Vic guys call a Whacker. Beautiful car, video was very informative on how to modify the FPIU with Forscan, but dont try and justify your Whacker modifications.
@TodayinKansasCity3 жыл бұрын
"Park by touch" doesn't have to mean touching other vehicles. There are parking garage walls, bollards, trees, etc. that you can bump. I mainly was joking when I said that, but I did use the bumper to push some gates and shopping carts. Definitely false to say that I installed the bumper for looks.
