I had pitched a 4 door AWD sport sedan utilizing Mustang engine variants with Jaguar type interior design cues to Lincoln many years ago. Called it the Lincoln Liberator based off of Lincoln nomenclature (reference B-24 Liberator WWII). Unfortunately they shot me down but I'm glad some variation of this vehicle is being made.

Ok I remember just a few months back ford promised that the Taurus would be coming back and I am still waiting for any sign of it , but from what I also remembered the current explorer was developed off a platform that was supposed to have had a four door developed on it also. So this could possibly be them just making due with some already developed stuff that they have lying around. It sounds like a cost effective move on their part and that usually ends up being what they go with. A move that saves money - the bean counter creed .

All they have to do is derestrict it and add reliability mods for extended idle and high speed work. Calling it a P72 Interceptor Package would be the icing on the cake. Stellantis is directly in the sight for this, they wasted an opportunity to improve their Hemi cars. If this unit is built, only a Hellcat could outrun the P72. Add an AWD version and GM and Chrysler are cooked
