In this video, I do a 70,000 mile on my 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid and an oil change as well. I go over the latest recall for the Maverick and work that is needed from a recent run-in with an animal. #2022fordmaverick #hybrid #lariat #update #oilchange #ford

thank you so much for these updates, its really helped me make a decision. I hope that when the Stout and Rampage come out the aftermarket price on these mavericks will drop, but even with that i still hesitant. I appreciate your honesty and transparency. I really like how you said that this truck is reliable but not dependable. I completely agree. Its a shame that for a 1-2 year old car you have had to make over 5 visits to the dealer. Its really not about money for me, but I hate wasting my time. Maybe these kinks will be worked out by the 2025 or 2026 model. Thanks JMC

How long does it take a hybrid maverick to heat up in let's say 32 degree weather outside? Also when you use app to remote start it can you turn on heated seats and heated steering wheel?

Thanks for the video. I did quite a bit of research before deciding on the oil and filter I would use in my 2024 XLT Hybrid. I actually chose the same Fram oil filter. As for oil, I've been using Valvoline Advanced 0W-20 but after watching your video, I checked out the Havoline Lifelong. After checking out reviews (mostly very positive), I have decided to switch. I like the fact that it comes in 6 quart size, which saves me a few bucks.

I have a 23 Maverick Lariat with 3,900 miles on it. We love this truck. It’s so quiet because of the thicker windshield. No issues other than factory updates. It just turned 1 year old, and wondering if I should change the oil now or go by the mileage?

@slothypunk

I have new truck and nice garage too like him, and use Wally oil filter, which costs less than 5 , with sales going on it costs as low as $2, I have three vehicles and one of them already past 200k miles with my method of doing oil change with all Wally oil and filter. So IDK where your passive aggressive thought is coming from with your "can't spring $9 filter" but my guess is he is doing what works based on his experience, and not based on how expensive it costs! Did you see it?

Hi John! Good to hear that you’ve got no new issues since last report. Question: on a cold (32 degs or thereabouts) remote start, does the cooling fan kick on? HVAC in heat mode, so this seems very weird, but that’s about the only beef I have about in my 26k mile ‘22 Mav Lariat. Belly pan reduces crusties from road salt, but it is a pain when changing oil.

You have a valid point for a lot of city driving. I just have issues with manufacturer recommendations. They have a conflict of interest since they are in the business of selling new vehicles. They will not be there for the customer when your engine fails.

@@kennyhart2699I just changed my 2001 Prius eCVT trans fluid for the first time in 179k miles. Factory 22 year old fluid came out slightly darker than new OEM fluid and when I dropped the pan, there was 1/4” of sludge buildup under the pickup tube. The pickup tube o-ring was squared off and hard, so I installed a new one with a new pan gasket. Based on my experience with my eCVT, the fluid lasts far longer than in a conventional transmission. Toyota calls its eCVT fluid ‘lifetime’ due to the fluid only cooling and lubricating the gearsets, which may be true but there are other factors at play than fluid condition. Cleaning the sludge and pan magnet and installing a new pickup tube o-ring was imperative to longevity. On a relatively new Ford though with 70k miles, a drain and fill would be prudent. I’m sure the fluid could last twice as long but it would be wise to change.
@Combatpzman
@Combatpzman 10 ай бұрын
@@airborneadventurerDo not do this. Look up advice from Toyota Hybrid master techs, they still recommend every 60k or 6 years, whatever comes first. Why? The reason they gave was that with use and time the chemical compounds of the fluid break down, reducing its ability to lubricate and cool the eCVT. There won’t be lots of bits or dirt, there is really nothing to wear out in the eCVT gear set.
