I absolutely love the attention to detail on this car, can I ask where you buy your anodised bolts and washers from? I'm guessing Ebay if so what are the common sizes I would need for my engine bay on my diesel ST. My car has not been show worthy for sometime but I've got some money now to spend on getting it to a position I'm happy to show it off, so next year I will be doing my best to attend some events and hopefully get to see you and your car in person. As I'm doing it up, do you have any advice you can give me?

Cheers for the positive comments m8 yea I shop around a lot on eBay for the engine bolts and annodised washers the 2 main sizes are m6 and m8 , doing theese up yr main problem is rust to sills , clutch and if as you say yrs is the diesel variant problems are injectors (601’s or 701’s) can be an issue also the high pressure pumps and as mentioned the dual mass and pully rattles cheers again for yr comments

@dunkhoughton175 thanks for your reply, I may be asking you more questions as I've watched quite a few of your videos, and you're the type of bloke who knows what they are talking about with these cars, so I'll apologise now if you get bombarded with me asking you things. Yes your correct with the crankshaft pulley has decided to start rattling, and as it's going round, you can see a sliver shine on the pulley where it's worn and moving about, never had that changed in the 9 years I've had the car, although I've done tensioner pulleys and belts I never thought to do the main one, still learning after all this time owning it, it's had a new turbo as I blocked off egr valve and I'm sure that had something to do with it failing, new airtec intercooler, all main engines hoses upgraded to blue silicone, k&n panel filter and always run on BP ultimate diesel ⛽️ also used Delphi injector cleaner but they've stopped doing that brand so I use Redex one now. Always use the top quality Castrol Magnetic A5 oil, etc, so do try and look after it. Bodywork needs quite a bit of tlc so I'm in need of a performance blue front bumper as I snapped mine off on passenger side driving up a grass verge in the dark not realising it was there and being lowered too didn't help, on that what shocks and lowering springs do you recommend or would you go the whole hog and have coilovers? Also, I'm thinking of going onto 19" alloys from TSW." I think that would be the icing on the cake once those go on. But the main thing first is the mechanical side , getting this all sorted out properly, then focusing on the bodywork, then the sound system, and finally finishing touches 😉

@@johnharvey3464 yes m8 ask away if I can help I always will the bottom pully is easy just 3 bolts hold it in ( think there 17 mm) not done 1 for a fue years lol but yea really easy m8 I’ve always got parts in m8 I bought a fue cars years ago and basically I got covid badly along with copd so unable to repair them so just broke them so yea got loads n loads n loads of bits m8 petrol and diesel from wheel nuts to full engines , yea 19” wheels look awesome on theese , I have 7 of them 4 hatchbacks and 3 estates so always on with something on them 4 of them run the RS 19” alloys and 1 of them have 20” x9 J on them that looks epic so yea keep in touch m8 and advise and if I can help I will do again appreciate yr comments 👍👍
