I'm not a Ford fan, and like you I own a Tesla, but props to them on this bold move. They have to start somewhere and very few ICE automakers are this advanced. Ford will help to transition away from petrol. Not everyone loves Tesla like we do 😉. Great video Trevor!

Comments on your video: Yes there is regen outside of one pedal driving. Regen occurs in Unbridled when the foot is removed from the accelerator and in any mode when the brake is depressed. Nobody I knows uses the Ford navigation. People mostly use Google Maps in Android Auto or Carplay. Spending time in the Ford navigation system in a review is a waste of time. The tipping point for me choosing the Mach E over the Model Y was the instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel. Well, that and I wasn't fond of the tired exterior styling of the Model Y.

Nice review. This is a great option from another domestic company. It suits others who are not into the Tesla cars and community. Ford copying some of Tesla was smart and they put some thought into this vehicle. Can't wait to see the GT model reviews.

The tire inflator looks identical to mine from Tesla. Glad to see Ford provides a NEMA 14-50 plug with the onboard charger. That Tesla stopped providing them is another "nickel-and-dime" decision that really irks me. And it has Homelink, another "cheap" decision by Tesla to no longer include it. The floppy privacy screen isn't the best; I wish the Model Y had a privacy "rollup blind" like my Subaru had, or a removable "cargo lid" like my LEAF had. I like the bird's eye view display. It sure has a lot more options in the control panels. Glad it has side-to-side cup holders; front-to-back irritate me. The autosteer needs some work, but I really like it… more than I thought I would.

You do get regen with one pedal drive turned off. When in Unbridled mode or when pressing on the brake. Ironically, the instrument cluster on the dashboard was the tipping point to choosing a Mach E over a Model Y for me. Well, that and the tired styling of the Model Y.

Great video. Too bad they can only produce 50,000 of these a year. We need to speed up the transition to sustainable energy and the more great EV options the better. More options would convert more people. Good to see Ford finally making an effort.
@kennordsfan14943 жыл бұрын
How is this a sustainable energy vehicle? Power generation is still done with gas, oil or coal. Solar in the near future won’t even come close to being able to charge this or the many EV’s that may be on the road in the future. Until there is a cleaner such as small nuclear reactors EV’s will continue to be a luxury for very wealthy people.

Not dissing on Tesla, but we purchased our Mustang because it is "familiar". That was something I did not get when I test drove the Tesla. It is a comfortable everyday driver that has fun torque. As to whether or not it is a Mustang, Ford owns the rights to the name and they put it on the car so... and I am quite sure it will spank the 6 cylinder mustangs and might 8th mile with the V8. Quirks aside, it is a fun vehicle.

My first impressions were very similar. Mach e is an excellent start for Ford and Ligntning looks even better. As a Tesla owner, I disliked the start/stop button because there's no need for it. The radio volume control, also in Lightning, was a bad idea. Mach e ride was good, acceleration reasonable, and nice one-pedal driving. My three favorite features were the display behind steering wheel, Apple Car Play, and spacious frunk with dividers/drain. Maybe it's operator error, but I couldn't find charging stations when setting a destination on GPS. Is that a bug requiring an OTA update? Ford dealer was somewhat irritating saying they don't get any repair revenue so purchase price is $5K over Monroney label and car is in very high demand. I feel most people should buy the extended range model. But if price for a well equipped one is $74K, I'd rather spend $5K more and buy the 2021 model S-LR for 412 miles range.

Mach-e GT Performance does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds like Model Y Performance. The Ford has lower range but has wide super sticky summer performance tires and magneride shocks which Elon vetoed on Teslas because they consume too much energy. But these shocks are supple when driving straight and stiffen nicely in the corners.

Tesla was and is a niche market that it still continues today. Tesla is still the most expensive of the bunch and with the the continued quality issues in fit and finish. That is the biggest reason I wouldn’t get a Tesla I just cant spend that amount of money here in Canada MY LR being 74,000 dollars and to have those kind of quality issues bothers me. I do like Tesla and what their product is but not all the issues which some have been addressed. From a business concern that today Tesla still doesn’t make money building cars just the carbon credits form other companies is a concern. As Ford, Hyundai and GM should have their first models out this year and from the Mach E’s owners and pun dents have all said that the build quality is very good.

The whole thing with the Mustang MACH-E is. The Mustang was never anything other than a 2door Rear Wheel Drive sports car. The Mustang mach-E is a crossover Explorer E-Scape SUV. If u open ur eyes ome time u will see this. It's a crossover-SU-EV. This is 1000 times worse than when dodge created a door car and named it a charger. There never was a 4 door charger. The chargers were originally better than the CHALLENGERs in my opinion but dodge ruined the original charger image. Is that what Fords doing now or did they have another streak of retardation? If this was an electric version of the Mustang, then nobody would have a problem with it. Trust me everyone that reads this knows the truth. This is the truth that everybody KNOWS. What if DODGE came out with an electric crossover suv and had CHALLENGER style taillights and they called it the CHALLENGER Bumble-V-EV do u think the 🌎 would have any issue with that logic?? Or how about Chevy comes out with an electric MINI-VAN and call it the Chevy Silverado-SS-EV That is why WE THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD have a problem with the dumb name. Is it a cool crossover that's more like a Ford EV- Explorer except its got some different taillights that's look a bit like a Mustang. But this is not to ever BE confused in this decade to be a Mustang. Atlleast not yet. In 10 years or so when they quit making gas vehicles and the regular Mustang no longer exist, then this will be known as the Mustang because that's what everybody will grow up knowing it as. But its not a Mustang in its roots. Its instead a somewhat sporty Electric Crossover SUV. Not a 2 door Coupe. I'm surprised the Ford Lightning is even a truck with Fords Dumbasses giving their vehicles dumb nonsense names. It's like they want their company to crash out due to complete laziness to be original. Let's just name something something it's not cause that vehicle was so desired it'll make people want it. Kindergarten thinking is Fords Name Designers. 💯

No one narrows down a list of cars to buy to picking between a mach e and an ice mustang. The people who buy this car don't care what the name is, the people who aren't going to buy this car do. So I think Ford doesn't mind making people who are not going to buy this car mad
