Ford Mustang ported 1 5/8" Stainless steel shorty headers vs Flowtech 1 3/4" shorty headers Part 2!

We just decided to put our ported stainless shorty headers on vs porting the Flowtechs and putting them back on due to the fact that our ported ones flow much more and are stainless steel vs regular steel like the Flowtechs are.

I always go long tubes but them BD's headers look very nice. Id use the ARH 3" Hpipe wth your shortys if I was to run shorties.

Once you realize how much power you can support with shorty headers ported by us you won't buy long tubes anymore! The ones we ported, modified and setup for 3" exhaust systems flowed over 800cfm each side and we installed fire cones in the collectors to further increase scavenging!

We perform several different modifications. Some help/improve fitment and the others all improved flow. To the naked eye you wouldn't be able to tell by just looking

Question not related to this video. But how would stage 2 explorer / cobra in work with some stage 2 TFS 170 ? would that be an optimal package. 306 motor. what would you recommend a different intake and or heads?;

We actually posted a video and information on a car running that combo. It's the car we are painting in our shop. It has our stage 2 Explorer gt40 manifold, out the box TFS 170s, B cam, our high flowing X pipe, our ported 75mm throttle body, ported long tubes, the stainless steel straight through mufflers we sell, 1.7 rockers, UD crank pulley, electric fan, tuned by us no chip. It runs extremely well and dyno over 350whp/350wtrq. Car would have made more power with our stage 2 cam.

Sbf doesn’t need 13/4 exhaust tubes unless it’s really built for hp. So a dented tube oversized has no effect on power.

This is not true. Please do your research because its already enough bad information being spread by misinformed people. We have done a lot of measuring and testing over the years and we know what the primary tubes of these headers flow. The primary tubes of the lower flowing headers individually flowed less than the exhaust ports flow at .500" lift on the heads. How di we know? Because we ported and flow tested them. Plus the car made more power with our headers. There's a lot you don't know about us here at Bigdogs. Just follow along and you will see. 👍

Why is the pressure in the 13 range on your flow test with the flowtechs, and in the 5 range with your stainless high flow shorties?

Got back through our videos and see the videos of our flowbench accuracy that we did. Our flowbench is self calibrating and calculates the results to 28" no matter if the depression is 10", 20" or 30". Like how the Super Flow benches are calibrated to 25" and you have to manually calculate to 28" on the older ones, our does it all automatically. We show this in those calibration videos

You saying, runs like a Bat out of hell, is not a tangeable result that we as poss. customers can extrapolate, hard numbers from. I thought you guys said previously that you were going to show dyno results of your parts combo? I am not a hater, i like to see data, i dont see anything wrong with that?

We know how to make power and how to make factory parts perform well beyond what's expected. The results speaks for themselves. The heads can't flow 365 so why would it be that big of difference in power on a street engine i could see it on high horsepower engines

It doesn't work that way. Header flow is a combination of all the cylinders on that side going through one header. Please do research on how motors work and the importance of exhaust flow on hp and performance
