Just because the floor looks the same, does not mean is the same type of surface, therefore it won’t give you the right traction, reason as of why these cars let’s you adjust the rpm before launch, so you can kind of figure out which would be the optimal rpm for that specific surface. It will spin but will put the power down faster, it is obvious more complicated than 4 wheel drive and it won’t be as effective, but sure as hell won’t be that bad.

I would go so far as to say the GT500 launch control sucks. I've seen countless videos where that method of launch kills the potential of the car. No launch is the way with that car, you just have to learn to do it yourself

As an owner of a supercharged 2020 Mustang GT auto it was quite clear that the GT500 driver had no idea how to drive such a vehicle. When you launch the 500 you have to do it at an rpm that is enough not to make it bog but not too much where it just spins and does nothing. Takes a lot of practice and you need a really good semi slick on a dry road.

You get a car based off what you want. Personally I love RWD v8’s. . I don’t race from a dig ever so for me it doesn’t come into play. I do roll races occasionally but mostly just like to do pulls on the freeway by myself and enjoy my car. I guess some people race from stoplights so they would want AWD but for me it’s pointless. It’s not a handicap at all. It’s different applications. This video shows the cars are good at what they are made for. The gt500 is a monster that’s why it walked both on a roll, and AWD did what’s it’s designed to do, hook fast. Also what is a RWD person?? What country are they from? Where did their descendants come from?? What culture? What’s their history?? Lol people are people don’t get too caught up in it

Sam , my suggestion to you is looking into a Jdm importer. The GTR came out in 2008 in Japan and you could import one next year for much cheaper than buying one here. In my experience with owning a few RHD JDM cars is the quality from Japan was much better. Have to love Canadian 15 year import law.

On stand still, GT-R shines because of superior AWD system, while the AMG and GT500 are RWD too much power for 2 wheels to handle. GT500 performs poorly on standstill because of RWD, the traction control/launch assist is terrible, the RPM just goes down too much to maintain a good traction, it may fare better with manual transmission, better tires and better driver. On the roll, the GT500 blows everyone away, while the AMG GTS beats the GTR due to better power to weight ratio. GT500 bring smile per miles or great HP per dollar with lower MSRP than GTS and GT-R.

AWD on the street is unbeatable so no surprise the GTR handed the other two cars Ls. Yeah it’s long in the tooth but it still handles its business. That said two weeks ago at GLD in Union Grove WI (mediocre 2300 DA), I saw a stock GT500 on oem Michelin’s, run consistent 10.80s-11.0s at 130-131.5. The driver was heating up the tires and using LC. It sounded great going down the 1320. So the roll race results here were expected, the GT500 is a gorilla. Great vid Sam.

The AMG GTc is not the competitor to the GT R. The GTc is the convertible version of the AMG GT cars. The GTs is the S model which means more horsepower and the AMG GTR is the track version. The AMG GTR and Nissan GT R are direct competitors.
