Ford Mustang with altered temp tags flees from Arkansas State Police - PIT Maneuver!

Trooper's Narrative:
On February 29th, 2024 at approximately 8:27 AM, Trooper James Booth was entering I-30 eastbound when he noticed a silver
Ford Mustang with a temporary tag (DA362284) that had an altered seal on the paper. He ran the tag number through NCIC
and found that it had expired in 2022, despite displaying an expiration date of 4/20/24. The vehicle took the Broadway exit, and
the driver, later identified as Markease Williams, began to flee upon reaching North Pine Street. Mr. Williams was the only
occupant of the vehicle.
As he fled, Mr. Williams drove North onto N Locust Street, driving the wrong way in the westbound lane going eastbound, and
exceeded speeds of 115 miles per hour. He lost control of the vehicle on N Locust Street and went over a small hill. Trooper
Booth attempted a tactical vehicle intervention as Mr. Williams was turning around, but it was unsuccessful. Mr. Williams then
drove the wrong way towards oncoming traffic and went west onto W13th Street. He slowed down due to a dead-end and
turned south on North Gum Street.
A second T.V.I was performed, and Mr. Williams exited his vehicle and fled on foot toward a residence located on N Gum
Street. Trooper Booth radioed communications that he had a black male wearing a brown jacket running back toward W13th
and Main Street. After a short foot pursuit, he was assisted by the North Little Rock Police Department in capturing Mr. Williams
near the railroad tracks.
Blue Hill Towing arrived at the scene to secure the vehicle. Mr. Williams was taken to Springhill Baptist Hospital to be cleared
medically and then transported to Pulaski County Jail to be charged accordingly. The charges were as follows: 27-14-701:
OWNER FAIL TO REGISTER VEHICLE - EXPIRED TAGS, 27-50-302(a)(7): SPEEDING - MORE THAN 15 MPH OVER
LIMIT, 5-54-125(d)(2) 2023: FLEEING - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - EXCEEDING THE SPEED LIMIT, 5-54-125(c):
FLEEING - ON FOOT, 27-50-302(a)(6): DRIVING THE WRONG WAY ON A ONE-WAY STREET, 27-14-307: FALSE
EVIDENCE OF TITLE OR REGISTRATION, 27-51-901: FAIL TO YIELD TO EMERGENCY VEHICLE, 27-52-107: FAIL TO

If you buy a vehicle with a loan through a major bank, you have to register it and keep full-coverage insurance, or the bank will repo the vehicle. I'd imagine this vehicle was probably acquired with drug money (since it doesn't indicate it was stolen in the report), and not properly registered to avoid being ID'd in future crimes the owner/driver planned on commiting. I highly doubt it was insured with the fictitious temp tag.

I was once stuck under a freeway overpass after a fleeing suspect rear ended me. I had pulled over and stopped right before an on ramp because of the police coming up behind me with lights and sirens, and the perp had apparently planned on taking that ramp...but I unknowingly wrecked his plan.🙄 The cop jumped out and pulled his gun on the driver and held him there for what seemed like FOREVER, as he waited for backup. The sound of that freakin' siren bouncing around under that overpass had me wishing for an ice pick to jam in my eardrums!🤯

I saw Ford is building a F150 police interceptor truck for police departments. It will have siren kill switch when it’s placed in park. It will have an idle down switch. Once the officer exits the truck, the truck goes into idle and will prevent the truck from being stolen. It’s going to be a bad as truck. The only negative thing. It’s top speed I 120 MPH

Most siren units have a siren park kill feature already built in, just takes a wire run from the siren controller to the gear position sensor. Many departments don't use it due to the extra work involved, and some don't use it because they feel the siren running could potentially help backup locate a lone officer in some situations.

First off, all Police cars should be fitted with a gadget that turns off the siren automatically if the car is stopped for over 2 minutes. So one thing that we all believe usually gets proven as it was in this particular chase/apprehension. The perp is of a certain persuasion. However, a different belief is blown away again. The idea that black people are inherently faster than white people. How many times does the perp get a head start and yet, the white officer, loaded down with gear and other things that inhibit top speed (and maybe a couple of donuts) still runs down and catches the perp?! Great job trooper!
