Easy to do off the vehicle. Impossible to use that tool on an early super duty with 6.0 PSD. Instead, cut the locking mechanism out of a narrow zip tie so it won''t lock. Place it around the little locking clip just past the end of the black plastic part. Grab the zip tie with a pair of locking forceps (hemostat) and use the forceps like the key on a canned ham to tighten the zip tie. It will pull those little ears in toward the heater core pipe which in turn will pull the locking tabs out of the windows in the black plastic part. On a 2003 with 6.0 diesel, you have to remove 2 brackets to have room to get up in there. One is held onto 3 studs sticking up out of the A/C equipment. The other goes from the bottom of the firewall down to the A/C equipment. Getting the hose off of the firewall can be an issue. The exhaust pipe where it connects to the back of the turbo is in the way on the passenger side and the up pipes to the turbo are in the way on the driver side. Loosen them with an open end and then pull up on the pipe. There is enough slop in the holes in the tabs on the metal pipe that pulling up on it gives enough room to get a ratcheting combination wrench on the nut.

Is that a wheel alignment U-clip with a bolt and Two nut on it excellent idea you can put a bolt as long as needed to reach in tight places👍👍👍

Yea!? Don't on the vehicle when the connector has years of dirt and wear on it! If the connector was new, it wouldn't be a problem in the first place! Useless! I've tried tools like this before, it doesn't work that way
