I wouldn't. I've owned a 1971, 1985, and 1992 Broncos. The new one is far superior to any of them. The 1971 was noisy, rough riding, had manual steering, manual brakes, and an AM only radio. On a good day, it got 15.5 mpg. For 1970 technology, that was fine but not for 2023.

We had a 2022 Bronco Black Diamond with the 2.7 in it. It had a lot of power and was zippy, but it just felt really cheap for how much it was. I thought it looked great but longer drives felt more like a chore. We traded it for a Mazda CX-50 Meridian Package and we won't look back.

You went with a Black Diamond that has a washout rubberized floor, marine grade vinyl seats and is made for off-roading and traded it in towards a more Luxory style vehicle with “off road capabilities”, did you not know what you were getting with the Bronco? As for cheap, I would assume you are referring to the interior, sadly I have to say that more and more new vehicles coming with cheaper materials. I work in a shop and just the other day a brand new Toyota tundra seemed like they put let into it than one 5 years older. Anyway enjoy your Mazda.

I also have a 2022 base/Sas 2.7 2/dr. auto, it's been great love it, only wish I would get better mpg getting around 18.5 but with those 35 tires I should not be too surprised. You are right about 2.7 motors with bad valves, they used a vender in Ohio for these valves sent to Ford in April 2021 only had about 60 blown engines out of thousands sold, This is my 2nd Bronco I bought one a 67 when I came back from the war in Vietnam, this one is so much nicer, the 67 drove like a truck this 22 like a sports car, but I do wish I would have keep that 67 with the 289 engine. Fords have never let me down, only Chevs have giving me troubles. Over all I think Toyota makes the best trouble free auto on the market today, I have a 05 SR5 tundra 4x4 my wife has a Rav/4 never had any problems, only got 43k on the Tundra, on the 1st gen Tundra with the 4.7 motor owners are getting one million miles with just proper maint.

They're shutting the USA production plant down for retooling, because the Ranger and the (big) Bronco share the same platform, similar to the Expedition and the F-150. Thus it makes sense to make them both in the same factory. The (small) Bronco Sport from Mexico shares its platform with the Escape, so it would do no good to retool the Mexican factory.

If the pump and filter are in the tank, how would you save money just changing the filter, put it all back in and find out it's the pump. I leased a car for three years to bridge the gap from when that Bronco was released. Kept my old Jeep for the weekend toy. But once the Bronco came out I was selling the jeep and buying one. Bronco came out a year or more late and had crazy markups. Independent front suspension made it more of a 4Runner competitor than Wrangler competition. Of course that doesn’t hold up off-road. I can buy a Rubicon fully loaded for what the base Broncos are marked up too. Lame. But you know what? Jeep can go pound sand too. The similar Wrangler I looked at for $37k two years ago is $47k. I'll probably only run this batch for a 1k mi. or 2k instead of the usual 5k inverval. And it's running even better than it did before😆😆😆 Plus they sell the OEM Oil filters for toyota at walmart where I usually buy my oil anyways. I usually don't like pennzoil, but I have to admit, their high mileage synthetic with pure plus technology derived from natural gas instead of crude works so well! I ran the pennzoil synthetic '95 accord that had almost 300k. I took it in to get the valves adjusted, and the technician said the valvetrain & cams was so clean & new looking, he couldn't tell that it was a high mileage engine😆😆😆. When I changed the coilpacks & plugs, I made sure they were OEM also: Denso & NGK. That old camry has been a dream to own. I'm in my 40's, and it'll probably out live me😆😆

It's only a problem the other way around. If the car was designed with AGM then you shouldn't replace with lead acid. Upgrading lead acid to AGM is fine

Scotty I have a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica with a 128k and I've had 2 different mechanics look at it and both say the transmission is bad!! So when I drive it it shift's great " but sometimes when I get in it and start it I can only due 30mph but sometimes it runs great. But when it does act up the check engine light will come on and my radiator fan immediately runs even when cold I had the transmission cooler lines replaced"$475" and it didn't fix the problem. I can unhook the battery and leave it unplugged for 30-45 minutes and it runs beautiful until I shut it off and restart it?!? Any ideas what it could be?

There are a ton of things driving the pause in production at many plants. Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers are having issues getting part made and materials from lower tier vendors. Not sure about this axe grinding.

Hello, I just watched the video about the Ford bronco production being stopped. Then you started talking about batteries and you recommended AGM can be put into any car. However, the Lexus LS430 is very specific about the battery and I am wondering if an AGM battery can be put into this car? Also I read that the cold cranking amps must be the same as the OEM battery which is a paltry 530 if I'm not mistaken. I was told not to put a higher cold cranking amp battery into this vehicle. When I replace a battery in my cars I always put the highest cold cranking amps I can get. Can you shed some light on which battery for this vehicle. These were 2001 through 2006.

Scotty, I am having electrical problems with the gauge cluster, interior reading lights, 2010 Jeep Patriot. Problem started with front reading lights above the dash flashing when I use the right turn signal. Now, as I start the vehicle, all the dash lights flash then go off completely, except for the odometer lamp. No rear tail lights, but rear signals work. Strange. I suspect bad system ground, but what do you think.

Trump looked a little down-n-out from the that picture taken in court today. Only because his attorneys told him to keep his mouth shut. LOL! Back on topic... I don't see a lot of Broncos where I live. I'm surprised, it is a city with millions of people. Hopefully I can find a low mile 2 door with a bad engine. Eventually, the aftermarket will produce a wiring harness for a V8. Back it up with a manual transmission for some fun!

My neighbor’s Avalanche was doing the same thing the Equinox Scotty described was doing. I told him to tell the mechanic to swap out the computer. After 2 months of trying different things, he finally did. It was the computer. My 95 Honda Accord was doing the same thing. After a new computer, it ran like it was brand new. This was after I swapped out the fuel filter, distributor, coils, spark plugs, etc.

Cheaper, cheaper, cheaper, is all the auto manufacturers care about until it bites them back, they tell there suppliers to make it as cheap as possible, there only goal is just make it out of warranty in hopes you’ll just buy another new car, wash, rinse repeat. The 2.7 eco boost has been around for years, now valve problems? No cheaper valves, cost, cost, cost. At these prices for new vehicles, and the huge bonuses the automaker employees get, there product should be bulletproof.

Hi Scotty, hoping you may be able to help. I have a 2008 lexus ES 350. This morning when I started the car, I quickly noticed the navigation screen was blank/black. And none of the buttons around the screen were functioning. No climate control functionality meaning no defroster, no ac, no heat, etc. Interestingly, the radio, cd, and cassette player work but I have no screen to see the stations or anything. What can be causing this issue?

Scotty, when you were giving advice to check the fuel pressure, and no codes are showing, I had almost the same problem. Just a different vehicle. It turned out it was a camshaft sensor that decided to go south for the winter. Could it possibly be a cam sensor or a crank sensor?
