Ford's Next Moves: A Sneak Peek into the Future

As we celebrated Ford's centenary in South Africa recently, I thought I'd put together a video of their announcements.
From groundbreaking vehicles to transformative community projects, Ford is driving innovation, empowerment, and progress.
Ford Motor Company has allocated R5.2 billion (equivalent to US$272 million) to upgrade the Silverton Assembly Plant, gearing up for the production of the inaugural Ranger Plug-in Hybrid by the end of 2024.
This substantial investment encompasses the establishment of a new battery pack assembly section within the Silverton facility dedicated to the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) system.
Concurrently, enhancements are underway at Ford's Chassis Plant in the Tshwane Automotive Special Economic Zone (TASEZ) to suit the distinct chassis requirements of this model. This involves modifications to robotic systems, welding apparatus, control mechanisms, conveyors, and skids.
Ford is introducing an impressive lineup of vehicles, including the all-new Territory SUV, the next-generation Tourneo, and the Transit Custom. Each vehicle promises comfort, versatility, and cutting-edge technology, setting new benchmarks in their respective segments.
Ford is electrifying the South African roads with the all-electric Mustang Mach-E! And for all you Mustang lovers out there, brace yourselves for the seventh-generation Mustang range, including the beastly Mustang Dark Horse.
