I just installed this same cover on my 2019 Lariat F350 with the 8 foot bed and it was a beast trying to install. Had to do just like you guys did, take it off re align, yada yada, but finally after about 2 hours I finally got it to seat and fit. In the Bakflip videos they make it where, "HEY its so easy to install..." boom 20 min later its done...DONT BELIEVE THAT SHIT!!!!

Great video! I’m going to look into one of these, because mine finally got built and should be here in august!

Thanks man! Glad to hear she’s on her way! Bakflip is the go-to for me! Their other options are just as good from experience and things I’ve heard from family and friends. Can’t go wrong with the MX4, though!

When did you order yours? I ordered December and it's been built since may 24th...Shipping has been delayed twice!!
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
That’s terrible! I ordered 12/6/21. My build was delayed briefly, but finally got scheduled. Shipped and arrived on 2/28/22. How far are you from the plant?

@@beardedautomedia2261 north carolina to Kentucky isn't too far?? Hopefully get it within the next week or two. Have fun on your vacation
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
No, not too terribly far, but I would bet part of your transit is via rail. From what I understand, a lot of times getting stuck in a rail yard could be the holdup. Hopefully that sucker gets moving soon! Thank you sir!

Can you drive with it up like that?
@RBOWWOW Жыл бұрын
yes - use both support bars to brace it tho - I'm surprised it sits that far up above the roofline. My Nissan didnt do that. On this 22' F250 I did the Revolver X4S. Seems to have alot of the features I like and got rid of the blind spot with the Flip style. I will say that I have had failures on every Bak Product I have owned - 5) Now to date. Yes, I may be dumb for going back but they honored warranty on the last 3. And another FYI - if you purchase from certain auth dealers and have them install it - they double your warranty!! So my 5 year on the Revolver just went to 10 year.

Thanks! Mine come with the left front corner gasket fractured and fell off the cover. I just get tired with the return process. Do you have any suggestions on how to put it back? May I use a glue or double sided sticky tape or anything else to put it back? The cover will leak heavily without it!

great vid.. nice tonneau. I ended up getting the diamond back. it made it two months before my truck got here.🤷🏽♂

Haha, man isn’t that about how it goes! The diamondback is a hardcore cover! It looks like it could really take a beating! Thanks for coming back for another video!

I have the 8’ bed as well. Great video. In position 1, is there plenty of space for fifthwheel clearance?
@brianandersen19332 жыл бұрын
Did you check out the roll away? I was thinking with the 8' bed, that the fold would be heavy? Anyways looks amazing you did great job buddy.
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian! I had two thoughts on this: I definitely like the idea of the roll away and I also looked into the new version of the Revolver as well. I had the same thought as you on the MX4, and while it’s heavier than the short bed version, it’s really not bad at all when you use both hands past the middle of the bed. My other consideration was winter weather. I thought it might be more difficult to roll the cover when it’s cold and icy or snow covered. My previous experience with the MX4 says that it’s great all around, and this one is no different.

Well said, makes sense when you explained all scenarios. Take care.

Just ordered one of these. I have a generator that’s 20 inches tall that I’d like to be able to store in my bed, do you think it would fit with the cover closed?
@ZacFiscus Жыл бұрын
Hey man just curious. Do you think you NEED to install those drain tubes in the back of the bed there? I have a weathergaurd in-bed tool box that I have drilled in the bottom and would rather not try to take it out and slide forward to try to get those tubes to fit… I ordered the cover already so I’m trying to find a way around it. I don’t really personally care if a little water gets in honestly but just curious what you thought

Did you end up having to drill holes for the drain tubes?

Hey Jay! It's been awhile but my F250 is finally being shipped after four shipment delays. It's coming by rail first to Riverdale,IL then truck transport to the dealer here in Chicago. I'm planning on getting the LineX bedliner installed first, once I get possession and I already purchased the BakFlip MX4 cover to install before heading down to FL. Yes Florida, where Ian rolled through, but our home being built was the only area outside Fort Myers that didn't lose power, water, or experience any flooding. Thank God, looks like we picked a good area to build on high ground. My question to you is, the bedliner should be installed first then I can go ahead and install the BakFlip MX4 correct? I know the LineX is a day process but MX4 cover should be able to go on immediately after right? Thank you for the video so I can reference my install even though my bedliner is shorter.
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
Hey, that’s awesome news Joe! I’m happy to hear you’re finally on the home stretch! It definitely sounds like you lucked out with the hurricane damage, be safe on your travels! As for the process of installing the bed liner and MX4, I would definitely recommend the liner before the cover. Most generally Line-X will install a liner and cover same-day, so I wouldn’t be afraid to install the MX4 once the truck is back in your possession. I, personally would let the liner bake and get a good cure in the sun for 24 hours before I covered it up, but I don’t think it’s necessary. Enjoy your new rig!!

Great job! Nice to be able to get a little help from Dad too! I installed a Bakflip on my 2011 Honda Ridgeline and loved it! I just received my second delay on my 2022 F-250 7.3 Lariat, BIG BUMMER!!! Order confirmed 2/23/22 In production 5/20/22 Built 6/25/22 Original shipment was 7/17/22 Ship delayed a 2nd time on 7/19/22 to 8/24/22. It's hard to except this being the case, of putting it on to a truck transport to my dealership. I'm not sure if I'm getting the serious run around? because it was on a micro chip hold earlier, but my dealer rep told me it moved to transport hold. Any words of wisdom? My sticker price also went up $2000 since the build. Can I go get from the plant? Can my dealership go get the truck? Ugh! frustrating...
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
Hey, it can’t be all brains! We need a little brawn too! Sucks to hear you keep getting delayed! As for getting the run around, the shipping delays are pretty serious. Depending on if yours will be primarily rail delivered, it could definitely be waiting at a rail yard for that long. Your dealership MIGHT be able to hot ship it, but I highly doubt it. There’s no picking it up from the plant, unfortunately….so you’re at the mercy of whichever transport company took on your truck. It’s hard to know it’s built and ready to go, but I bet you’ll see it sooner than you think!
@onthegowithjoeandkathy2 жыл бұрын
@@beardedautomedia2261 agreed! Interesting, rail yard could be the delay too. I guess I assumed it was coming by truck transport from the Kentucky Ford plant. I will reach out to my rep to see if they know the type of transport hold, and ask about a hot ship (never knew that either). Thank you for the insight Jay! and a sounding board too.
@beardedautomedia22612 жыл бұрын
Anytime! The transport type varies. Most have a combo of rail and truck, but some have more rail time while others have more truck time. Fortunately, mine was all truck. 3 hrs from KTP to my dealer. Your dealer should be able to check the VVR and see exactly where it is in process. If it’s being transported by rail, you should be able to get a tracking number to call the rail line’s automated service and see it’s progress. Hang in there…it’s totally worth the wait!
