Ford Torque Converter Install | Monster Transmission

Curt shows how to install a Ford torque converter from Thor Converters with a Ford AOD Monster Transmission.
Start by adding fluid to the converter and greasing the torque converter hub, seals and shaft to ensure a smooth installation with out any cut seals. As you install it, you will rotate it clockwise and listen for the clunks as it goes onto the shaft and pump gears.
Always double check your clearance after the install to make sure your torque converter is installed correctly.
As you raise your transmission to install into your vehicle, be sure that the torque converter remains fully installed in the transmission.
Curt takes apart a pump for an AOD to show what can break and where the converter installs into.

Man what a great video,so much good info,yeah something ive learned in all my years working on cars is bolts everything loosely and slooowly start torquing everything down in a star pattern just like changing a tire, if you feel some opposition check and see whats going on, dont be a idiot and just keep tightening the hell out of it,thats a nice converter Curt,looks like its made of gold,lol I recently had a 347 built to go into my car and my builder bought me the flexplate, its a black Scat brand job,any thoughts on this brand? installing the motor next month if time allows,thank you for your time.

Mi transmission make a bad sound on the flywheel and the converter do you think the converter was bad ???

I'm getting ready to do this on a 1988 Ford F250 7.3 diesel pickup and I'm wondering does this same procedure apply to the C-6 transmission.
