I work in Ag and the best way I was taught to clean a cooling system is to fill with water and add Napisan....run until operation temp for 15mins and then flush with clean water until it stops foaming. When I questioned the old guy that showed me he said “ you wash ya fucking clothes in it to remove stains don’t ya?? “. I had no come back 😂

I served my time at a Ford dealers in the UK and every time we did a clutch it was mandatory to change the plugs in the back of the engine.

Especially important to change the antifreeze on 1000 and 10 series Ford engines as they are know for porous blocks which leads to water in the oil. An alternative to changing the coolant is adding a bottle of additive once in a while.

Steven Vanheel i own a ford. The starter solenoid is bad, so it wont fully engage the starter to the flywheel and it makes my car sound like a 2 stroke boat engine starting

Angel sweet! The key switch on my ford is going out so you have to get the key in the exact right place in order for the starter to spin otherwise it won’t work.

Deboss Garage : Rusted through soft plug behind the rear engine block plate at the top of the block just below the cylinder head. Issue that's becoming more and more prevalent, as they age, on the Fords from the 1950's, 1960's, and 1970's. My buddy Chris and I just did one on a Ford 4100 farm tractor.

Youre right about changing coolant. It doesnt matter how many run time hours it has as rust never sleeps. I always use bras plugs though.

Another critical thing that'll kill freeze plugs is a faulty electrical system. I've had rusted to death freezeplugs from bad grounds. Electrolysis will eat them quick.

At the end there - I was always taught to load tractors in reverse, that way most of the weight is over the tongue. If you load them front ways on the trailer, it can unload the tongue and cause the trailer tires to "toe out", which makes the trailers swerve back and forth.

Depends entirely how the tractor is loaded. If it is weighed down with dry weight it will tend to be nose heavy. If it is weighed down with chloride in the tires it will be tail heavy. Also depends if you are putting anything else on the trailer and the size of the tractor. With just this Ford 2000 the rear axle was between the trailer axles and the nose being forward meant that the load was on the tongue.

8:30 Yea I wish I knew about that trick. When I replaced the clutch in my ford. I didnt know how to get the pilot bearing out..... so I CARVED it out. It was -13 degrees, sitting on a bed of rocks with snow and forgot I was working there and peed were I work at.... live and learn I guess

This speaks to me, I'm losing coolant everyday from a "frost" (welsh) plug behind the flywheel on my Datsun. I put a bunch of block stop leak in the coolant, which did improve how much it leaks, but I don't like to this what it does to the rest of my cooling system.

The guy who splits my old ford tractor for me has some angle iron bolted to his concrete floor, forming a train track like arrangement for his trolly jack to run along. He puts a long ratchet strap around the tractor and then splits, it, rolling it apart on the track. To join it back togther he just cranks on the ratchet strap and it comes back together, the track meaning its perfectly aligned.

I dunno if you do it but whenever I'm not surfacing a flywheel or pressure plate I hit all surfaces with a cookie disc to knock the glaze and surface checking off and I use a sanding block to smooth the clutch disc

My dad had a ford 2000 gas. I took it for a while to try out. No power steering but no big deal as i was just going to use it to mow with a 5’ shredder. It didnt have a high low range which i think was optional so i couldnt use my box blade either as the ground speed was too fast. Went to use it one day and the clutch was stuck. We tried every trick to get it unstuck. No luck. We had to split in and since the disc was pretty worn we replaced it and the pressure plate and had the flywheel turned. I decided to keep my farmall super A with woods L59 belly mower since it is more maneuverable as i have a lot of trees and i didnt need a shredder anyway. I also replaced the water pump and removed the jerry rigged electric fuel pump (powered by constant hot from coil!) and i stalled a new mechanical pump before we sold it to dads neighbor because i didnt want it to burn to the ground. That thing was a pain in the ass to work on. I stick to old farmalls now! I also have a 1967 MF 2200 industrial loader a perkins d3.152 and shuttle shift. I have never really had to do much to it. Couple of hydro lines, ps pump, resealed the injector pump. Easy to work on!

I had a customer with a Pontiac tempest 2.8auto frost plug was rotted they jammed it full of stop leak took me hours to clean that guck out. I feel your pain.... BTW.... Happy mothers day!

Major BOO BOO "hydraulic pump drives off the fly wheel"!!! I HAD TO WATCH IT THREE TIMES to be sure I heard it right, look after the 3min mark there is a huge disc on the block. Hydraulic pump is driven by the end of the CAMSHAFT. I loved Buddy there struggling with the hood lol, flipping the other side up makes it simpler after the battery is removed. Keep up the vids but plz have correct info

I tend to put John Deere cool-gard in all my stuff were there's no coolant filter on them, I've even heard some Ford tractor people putting it in their 1000, 600, and 10 series tractors because on some of them going porous, expensive stuff but worth it, like your tractor videos, looking forward to an International 74 or 84 series tractor's one when the day comes. 👍

Don't ever say never, put a reman head on a DT 466, started in up ,ran it for ten mins., heatd a pop. Coolant pressure went away, looked externally for the problem , took the valve cover off , and low and behold a freeze plug popped out.

jim conway Evan's coolant is great for racing applications but it's too expensive for average guys. And if any thing happens to your coolant system you can't add additives to seal radiator or heater core. Also never buy a used Truck with Evans coolant... I bought a 6.5L 1996 3500 Chevy and the previous owner had Evan's coolant in the system. The Evan's coolant doesn't expand you can open your rad/res cap at operating temperature. Well this 6.5L Diesel had a rotten cylinder head full of electrolysis, and the Evan's coolant masked the problem. I drove the truck for 10 months and then a portion of my coolant hoses blew while I was 3 hours out in the country side where I could not get Evan's coolant.... When we put normal coolant in and drove away my head gasket blew while I was out in the middle of nowhere. The Evan's coolant worked so well, it masked a major engine problem so the con man I bought the thing off of could sell it for full price... I don't blame Evan's coolant, for all I know that coolant was only swapped in a month before I bought it (really I have no idea how long that coolant was in there for, probably just long enough to sell the truck).... Never buy a used vehicle with Evan's coolant, the coolant can mask a major engine problem costing big money 💰! I use NAPA heavy duty Diesel coolant now.
