Thanks, it depends if the egr is permanent or intermittent. Cause most times egr faults are permanent and they need changing. As the egr gets faulty

My vans battery ran flat yesterday, there was no issues with the van until that, today the RAC bloke came and got me going again, but the engine warning light can on, he checked it and three things cam eup, glow plug circuit issue, and P246C, ash accumulation, and P2463 soot accumulated. Whats the best advice, please, call out one of those firms that clean out the system, or get someone to do a forced regen? I took it for a 1 hour drive to recharge the battery and definitely noticed a serious lack of power unlike its normal self. Strange how it happens the same time the battery ran flat.

@@mattminich1351 Hey Matt, no, I havent found anything good near that price range. The only device I was interested in, was the iCarsoft US V3.0. But than decided to let the professionals work on my car. I came to the conclusion, that, all those cheap OBD tools dont support such an option as a forced regeneration.

All great but one more thing to do 😉 next morning check oil level as in forced dpf regeneration injectors spray fuel in wider cone so some of fuel may mix with oil and in that ecoblue engine is rubber belt in oil running oil pump and engine timing. That belt like to loose rubber bits witch end up in oil pickup causing low oil pressure in worse case it snaps due to contaminated oil this type of engines can't be flushed any tec or liquy moly oil flush also reduce life time of timing belt as it's rubber in oil🤔 ... , Same problem like psa 1.2 pure tech.. oil also need to be specific 0W-30 ACEA C2.. , forced regen =new oil for sure

Yes. Auto transmissions generally don't deal well with limited (limp) power. Sort the engine problem out and the box will be just fine.

Whats the best practice for the connect do you need a half a tank to trigger it and over 40mph? Theirs no info on it to get it to regen, Thanks

Personally I’d have at least a half tank fuel in and do over 60 mph in low gears so your revs sits around 3rpm. Also ensure you check your coolant temperature.

Bad tip and bad practice. You only do this when a new DPF or cleaned DPF is fitted. And you do not regen after simply resetting soot levels

On the Autel scan tool you can reset learned values and agreed, it's not a good idea unless it's a new or physically cleaned DPF. This method can damage the dpf and raise temperatures too high if ever needing to do static regens.

Yeh that would be next option if this didn’t work but trouble is when you remap most cars they end up smoking like hell.
